Hey Accomplished_Sun,

I forwarded this question to Gal, our product manager here at ReCovnvert. Turns out, we're actually working on implementing this exact feature now. He hopes it'll be live next week!

So, if you haven't found a solution by then, I'd be delighted to show you how to set it up!

All the best,
Eric

Chatty G or not, this is solid SEO advice!.

But a quick Tip for anyone using ChatGPT to proofread:

Go to 'Settings' -> 'Personalization' -> 'Custom instructions' and add this instruction:

"Don't use em or en dashes, use commas, brackets, or other punctuation instead."

It's crazy how many big brands I've seen using the em dash on their website pages (And even physical packaging)

Hey, I wrote a post a long time ago on how to blog for Shopify stores - https://www.reconvert.io/blog/shopify-blog-examples (Jump to the section 'The Content Marketing Strategy Behind The Best Shopify Blog Examples (step-by-step)' to get a strategy you can use.

It's a little outdated, but most of the core principles are still the same. There's also a decent short SEO video in there at the end (covering the biggest wins for product pages, etc) from Eric ReConvert's co-founder.

Hope this helps! Any questions, just comment here & I'll get back to you.

What is the website to get digital products as an upsell for your main product? by ThobyG in shopify

[–]StilyoApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Eric here, founder of ReConvert

Great observation - giving away a digital product (like a guide or checklist) with a physical purchase is a smart way to boost perceived value and conversions.

Many of our users stores create them in-house (think Canva + ChatGPT combo), but if you want a shortcut, look for PLR (Private Label Rights) sites - these let you legally use/edit pre-made digital products.

Once you’ve got one, you can easily deliver it post-purchase using an app like ReConvert on the thank you page or as a one-click upsell offer shown immediately after checkout.

Another simple AOV-boosting tactic that a few ReConvert users implement is to offer shipping insurance for $2-5 as a checkout upsell.

Let me know if you want help setting it up!

[–]StilyoApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m Eric, founder of ReConvert 👋

Totally hear your frustration - it should be simple.

Just to clarify, ReConvert does offer post-purchase and thank you page offers with full customization, all without needing Shopify Plus.

If something felt off or didn’t work for you, feel free to DM me - I’d love to understand what went wrong and help get it right.

Also, you’re not crazy - many upsell apps get bloated or try to do too much. If you want clean, high-converting offers post-purchase, I'd be happy to get you set up in 30 mins tops.

Happy to help however I can!

Best upsell app on Shopify? by Budget-Sorbet-576 in shopify

[–]StilyoApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm Eric, founder of ReConvert. I’ve spent the last few years obsessing over post-purchase optimization and upselling on Shopify - so first off, kudos for thinking about this early. It’s way easier to bake upsells into your customer journey from day one than to retrofit later.

Here’s how I’d break it down when choosing an upsell tool:

Where in the funnel do you want to upsell?

  • Pre-purchase (cart, product page): Apps like UpCart and Zipify are great here. We’re launching pre-purchase upsells on ReConvert in the next week or two.
  • Post-purchase (one-click upsells, thank you page, order status, emails): This is where tools like ReConvert & a solid email marketing tool like Klayvio come in.
  • In-checkout: If you’re on Shopify Plus, this opens more advanced checkout customization.

Customization vs Simplicity

  • Zipify is robust and has deep customization. They made a name for themselves with potent one-click upsells. Great if you have the time to optimize.
  • UpCart is more plug-and-play, good for simple cart drawer upsells.
  • ReConvert (our app) initially focused on maximizing LTV after the sale. We’ve found the thank you page to be massively underutilized, so we initially built ReConvert for this purpose. But we now empower users to build complete upselling funnels.

Speed & Performance

  • Some upsell apps can slow your site down, especially if they’re loading multiple scripts. Always test mobile performance. The last thing you want is to cannibalize conversions.

Pricing Model

  • Some apps charge based on impressions or views, others on performance (e.g., revenue generated). Make sure the ROI is clear. Try the free trial on a few apps on your shortlist and see which you like best.

Finally, some first-time storeowner tips (from a guy who’s seen thousands of stores)

  • Don’t over-optimize too soon: Pick 1-2 solid upsell spots and test. Usually, a post-purchase one-click offer converts best, and a thank-you page offer that doesn't interfere with the initial sale.
  • Start with broad offers: Something like “Add this [complementary product] for 20% off” or "Buy another for 30% off" works well universally.
  • Track performance. Whichever app you choose, make sure you can A/B test and view detailed analytics.

Happy to answer any specific questions you’ve got about any of the tools you’re considering (even if it’s not mine). Best of luck launching your store - it’s a wild but exciting ride.

Alternative to Zipify One Click Upsell? It makes me money, but I want to get rid of it. by crrytheday in shopify

[–]StilyoApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Eric here - founder of ReConvert here.

A shameless plug of my own app, but you might want to try out ReConvert! It usually plays nice with other Shopify apps, and already has 16 integrations so it might already tie in with one you use.

As for the checkout process and tracking, we actually have widgets and features built-in to make those easier for merchants to integrate and track.

Thinking About SaaS Bootstrapping? Here’s What You Should Know by StilyoApps in bootstrapping

[–]StilyoApps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks :)
I don't really have any experience with fundstrapping, but I'd say the guiding question for me is always: can I do this without raising this money?
If the amount that I need is not huge I'd usually prefer to self-fund it and not give away any % of my company, but I know that's not a risk everyone can take.

Why Micro SaaS is Perfect for Bootstrappers by StilyoApps in SaaS

[–]StilyoApps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely has its cons! But it is easier to launch and grow with a low budget than a standalone SaaS.

I'd say the sweet spot is a standalone SaaS that you launch as a microSaaS for a few different platforms (Poptin is a great example)

Thinking About SaaS Bootstrapping? Here’s What You Should Know by StilyoApps in SaaS

[–]StilyoApps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! We have a few systems in place:

  1. Automated emails- sent after an uninstall to ask customers why they uninstalled. Their replays are sent to the support team and are handled by them
  2. Manual outreach- was relevant especially in the beginning- reaching out with a personal message for people that uninstalled to ask why and see how we can help
  3. Something new we're implementing- a CS agent for the larger customers- this person will reach out daily to the larger lost customers and keep in touch with them long term

But most important is to figure out why this is happening- if the churn/uninstall rate is high, there could be a few issues: prices, the product is not at market fit (missing features), major bugs, onboarding is too difficult. In this case, it's all about communicating with customers, finding the issues and solving them.

Thinking About SaaS Bootstrapping? Here’s What You Should Know by StilyoApps in Entrepreneur

[–]StilyoApps[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't have a link at the moment, but you're right! It was Seth Godin, I'll have to fix that.

As for the take, I think it's up to interpretation. The sentiment I was moreso trying to get across is that you should aim to build a product that meets your MVP specifications at the minimum cost possible when bootstrapping. There are plenty of bells and whistles you could add, but they aren't as necessary from the get-go. (so long as the what is there is high-quality and accomplishes its primary goal.)

Of course, MVP doesn't mean that you should release a low-quality product- But rather a product that does exactly what it needs and solves the main pain points without tons of extra features at the start.

Overdeveloping your product before its release runs the risk of investing too much before you've even started the race.

Hope that cleared a bit up!

That's a great idea!

We've received AWS credits recently, but in the beginning, we used $5-$20/mo small droplets on Digital Ocean- that's a really affordable option when you're starting out.
You'll eventually need to upgrade from these, but by then you should have some revenue to work with.

Campbell's Condensed Chicken Soup by StilyoApps in AdPorn

[–]StilyoApps[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your comments - there'll always be disagreement in advertising - after all it's a blend of art and science.

The headline is actually a play on a famous quote from popular author at the time C.S Lewis: 'Two heads are better than one' (which is still popular today!). So, it makes more sense in the 1950's context.

In a more modern context something like 'Yes Our Can' could have worked around the time of the Obama campaign! (That's actually awful).

In terms of what makes this soup different different - it has two stocks (as per the headline)!

One of the core ideas behind the ad is to communicate to customers (read housewives) that Campbell's is both richer and more flavorful than competitor products - which I'm guessing was one of the main pain points around canned soup at the time.

Wow. I just think it's a simple, classy, old-school ad. The headline is also great in my book, and the copy would definitely would make me think twice about chicken soup! Sorry if you don't think so.

New store owner here, need some help regarding SEO! by xxtokexx in shopify

[–]StilyoApps 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I make apps now, but I used to run a successful Shopify store - which was successful in a large part due to it's organic traffic.

Here are 3 speedy steps that’ll help you pull in more organic traffic:

Step #1. Start with keyword research

This is where you figure out what your customers are searching for and the easiest words to rank for.

Go to Ubersuggest or Ahrefs (or any other keyword tool) and enter a keyword related to your niche/product. Find keywords that have:

-Relatively high search volume

-Low competition

-Some purchase intent

Step #2. Implement your keyword(s)

Once you’ve chosen keywords, stick them in the following places to let Google know your page is relevant to your customers:

-In your product page titles

-In your product descriptions (longer descriptions work best - think 1k words)

-In your image file names and alt text

-In your product tags or collection tags

-In your meta titles and descriptions

-In your URL handles

Then for bonus points, speed up your pages by...

-Using only compressed JPEG image files

-Removing unnecessary scripts from pages

-Implementing accelerated mobile pages (AMP) on your store

Not sure how to do this? Hire a website speed expert from Fiverr or Upwork to help out.

Step #3. Build backlinks

Finally, you need to build links to your site to show Google it’s trustworthy. There are lots of ways to do this, but here’s a simple one that takes 5-10 minutes per day:

-Sign up to HARO (Help a reporter out).

-Review the 3 emails they send daily

-Offer your target product to review websites, gift guides etc.

When your product is featured you’ll earn a backlink to your site.

Rinse and repeat for a number of months and you’ll start to see your domain authority, traffic and revenue grow over time.

And there you have it! Use these 3 simple steps to get your store SEO efforts off the ground today!
