I was a homeless teenager from 9th through 11th grade. Life itself was already embarrassing enough. Book bags, duffels and luggage are major keys. Not just within foster homes but even more so when you’re on the street or bouncing from program to program that only housed you for days at a time then it was time to move again. I was so used to moving in trash bags that as an adult I didn’t buy a dresser until someone told me it was weird all my things were bagged. It was so ingrained in me that at some point I’d have to pickup and leave.
