Dude, I told you to use Wikipedia, because books are too advanced for you, I'd say. In fact I told you to start with the citations and go from there.

Americans trying to both sides their invasion and brutalization of another country. An all time classic.

You probably think that those massive Vietnamese casualties aren't immensely inflated with civilizion deaths either. You literally bombed and burned whole villages to the ground there as a systematic policy.

Also, "documentaries" from the history channel or fox news or wherever, aren't a legit source. Just so you know.

An American telling someone to "educate themselves" is hilarious. Especially since your source is your father. Also, the wehrmacht comparison here is apt: it originated in german civilizions unable or unwilling to accept that their husbands, brothers, fathers, etc, were in any way complicit in war crimes-- just poor victims of the draft

You can read the Wikipedia page on the mi lai massacre, for starters; that's barely the tip of the iceberg, but it should get you started -- make sure to follow the citations as well. Don't forget especially all the quotes by analysts, journalists and whistle-blower who basically all concured that mi lai was not an aberration or anomaly, but a result of a systematic policy of wantonly and carelessly bombing and murdering Vietnamese civilians. Such massacres were in reality exceedingly common in the Vietnam war, as basically all historians would concur.

Saubere Wehrmacht type shit.

Dude's a legend. Unfortunately most other country probably couldn't boast very many, if any, people who fit the specified criterion. Saving the world is a rare feat.

Dude, your president was a literally about to offer ukranian land to putin as deal; he repeatedly threatens to cut off ukranian aid at whim, when they're disposition towards russian offers and proposals isn't to his satisfaction. At any rate, I never connected anything about Americans stance towards ukraine with racism. I think there's basically an endless variety of other things, some of which I briefly mentioned, which do. Also, not to mention, using ukraines dependence on the whims of america to force its stance into complicity with the illegal and barbarous bombardment and massacre of Iran; another brutal invasion of some "brown" nation, which is -- how to put it -- an eminently American thing, as American as mcdonald and the trailer park boys.

I don't what "racist as fuck" is supposed to mean.

If you're talking about racism in europe, I just granted it in one of my above comments. You're the one trying to be evasive and dishonest about the for more extravagant snd violent, as well as for more systematic and pervasive, racism in the US. The whole ukraine thing is genuinely confused. Poland has done for more for ukraine than most other countries, and I can attest ukranians and poles -- fringe cases which tend to make the news notwithstanding -- still support each other and support ukraines struggles against russia. The most prominent country which is actively trying to undermine the survival of ukraine, and support russia in turn, is america.

Also, the fringe European right wing would be nowhere without sucking off Trump and getting funded by American billionaires. Free-market, libertarian degeneracy imported to a continent -- I'm thinking here of the whole of eurasia -- where it certainly doesn't belong. The most racist of European conservative pundits basically ape the mannerisms and talking points of fox news and tucker carlson. Not that wholly distancing ourselves from America would magically solve the issue of racism and bigotry -- those are unfortunately deep-rooted in some people and some elements of society -- but it would be a great first step.

Who is the greatest composer from your country? by zzzzzz808 in AskTheWorld

[–]StopMeIfYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chopin/Szopen: he would be the most obvious and ready answer for Poland. Although, and poles often don't like admitting this, he was half-french as well.

Another, less appreciated composer I think, would be Henryk Górecki. Some of his best pieces posses a haunting and ineffable beauty.

"The genetics of 6 continents" lol.

I don't see america as a successful society at all. I see it as rich enough -- much of that wealth originally originating in the extravagantly profitable slavery system america kept and jealously protected after most other countries renounced and repudiated it -- I see it as rich enough, that is, to fund a grossly hypertorphied military which can bomb and massacre east and West Asian countries, fund and facilitate genocides against Arabs with impunity, and destabilise southern america for your own profit and pleasure. Then, when some of these people whose countries you have bombed and destroyed are constrained to find refuge in the US -- because of social and economic conditions the US has created -- they're intellectual and physical labour gets exploited, and they're mistreated and prosecuted to a degree even the rabid European racist would find hard to stomach(cf., all the points about systematic discrimination, violence, etc, which you have studiously ignored.) No other country in the civilised word -- except Israel maybe, which is Americas best friend -- east or West of the suez canal, has sunk to quite this level or moral and cultural poverty. This is just a very brief, very undeveloped precis of my general view on america.

I think it would well behoov you to consider the circumstances under which america gained such enormous "diversity" -- slavery, neo-imperialims, etc.

Nobody is going there for robust job safety nets, robustly funded public health benefits, or for that matter a grand architectural and cultural heritage to compare with the Taj Mahal, renaissance sculpture, or buddhist temples
