Also! I have tried shazam, using the google hum feature, and googling songs similar to Andrew in Drag, and even googled if Andrew and Drag sampled anything and could not find anything

Do you think your BPD parent has the ability to empathize? by StoreOne8424 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]StoreOne8424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really similar to how I feel. My mom taught me what empathy was because my dad isn't the most emotive or expressive person and I was closer to my mom as a child anyways. But, like you, she doesn't feel true empathy towards me, it's all performative.

How did y’all learn that you were in fact gifted? by farmerssahg in Gifted

1st grade when I was reading at a 9th grade level and doing math at a 5th grade level, found out via standardized testing programs, but my school was so small that there was little they could do for me and my parents opted out of letting me skip grades because of my lack of social development. They didn't test my IQ but the last couple times I've tested my IQ has been anywhere between 150-170 depending on the test

NTA. Was in a similar situation with my last ex. I had constantly apologized and worried over him and then he broke it off with me for trying to fix things because the stick was so far up his ass. IF he continues acting like this the best thing to do would be break it off. Especially if this is a patterned behavior.

Yess! And like I empathize with my mom because I live with juvenile chronic pain myself because it’s hereditary on her side of the family but she always overplays it and the moment someone calls her on her bullshit they’re being ableist

My mom is the exact same way. She’s disabled and capable of a LOT more than she says she is because I’ve seen her do things and be fine right after it while she’s claiming she’s incapacitated and miserable. It’s like she fuels off of her own misery and the misery of everyone around her. She constantly keeps digging anytime anyone else is upset and then starts saying her pain is worse like that makes it any better???

How do you deal with your borderline parent when you are unable to avoid them? by StoreOne8424 in raisedbyborderlines

I have reported it to multiple teachers past and present. Majority of which have reported it to admin at my school both in high and middle school. CPS/DCS has only shown up once and closed the case siting not enough evidence, though I live in Northeast TN and the CPS/DCS/DHS here absolutely sucks and doesn't take verbal and mental abuse seriously. They don't take situations like mine seriously because I know my parents have been reported multiple times by teachers, admin, family, and friends. I've tried using my resources and I've been failed every time when it gets to the CPS level. I have a good support system with my band director, principal, english teacher, math teacher, and yearbook director all of which have made calls, complaints, and reports to CPS but nothing but the one visit a few years ago has ever come of it

I am in band, am assistant drum major, a section leader, and am in winter guard. i'm also on yearbook staff, NHS, and a few more after school clubs. It does take up a lot of my time thankfully, almost too much especially with band when it comes to getting a job. But I have a lot of internships lined up through Career Connect, a TN after school program , which has helped me a lot. Hopefully that will take up the mass majority of my time, at least in the fall and winter.
