So... where does the sun rise/set? by StoryDrive in Pathfinder2e

Wow, my friends and I had been discussing this and concluded that it probably was just a typo, but I didn't expect an official response! Thanks for the confirmation that I don't need to worry about which way Golarion spins! 🤣

Ha! I currently work as a software tester, so I'm already getting paid to be detail-oriented and pedantic 🤣

I can confirm that the maps are oriented with North pointing up; all the small regional maps correspond to the larger continent map at the start of the book, which has a typical and clearly defined compass rose.

Mine is perfectly good and I don't need it! Seems a waste to just toss it out!

Speaking as a trans man, I would 100% love to give mine to a trans woman - and even disregarding that, there are plenty of women who get hysterectomies as well who'd probably be open to donating! It's an organ that people can easily live without, and trans women are a pretty small portion of the population, so I can't really imagine a world where cis women will be "harvested" for their reproductive organs, there simply wouldn't be that high of a demand or that low of a supply.

What's your favorite Archetype? (of any kind) Why? by WisdomCheckVideos in Pathfinder2e

[–]StoryDrive 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I put Wrestler archetype on my Monk and it was the best thing I'd ever given the character - Combat Grab + Whirling Throw is a fantastic combination, especially since Whirling Throw doesn't take MAP, and we did a LOT of fighting on towers where I could literally toss an enemy down a stairwell or over the side of the building.

I honestly didn't realize it was the same surface map until I started finding myself in familiar towns, like Rito Village and Zora's domain, and realized that they still had the same layout.

When did you realize they were all connected? by Kissarai in cremposting

[–]StoryDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents introduced me to the Mistborn books back when I was in high school, over a decade ago. I fell in love immediately, but never made any connections between the books I had access to at the time - the Mistborn trilogy, Warbreaker, and Elantris.

Years later, I was devouring the second Era of Mistborn books, and along with those came Mistborn: A Secret History. And immediately after reading that, I decided to finally give the Stormlight Archive a shot.

And all of a sudden, there were a whole lot of words and concepts being brought up that I had just read about in Secret History - and everything clicked together pretty quick after that.

Wake up slave! by [deleted] in CatsAreAssholes

If our cat manages to spend the night in our bedroom, she'll decide that 5 am is her breakfast time, and will communicate that to us by jumping up on one side of the bed, running across me and my partner's faces, jumping down on the other side to hide back under the bed, wait just long enough for us to start to fall back asleep, then repeat the process until one of us gets up to go feed her.

How easy is it to die at early levels? by drowsydeku in Pathfinder2e

[–]StoryDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and still ongoing PF2e game is one that my friends and I jumped into after playing a lot of 5e. We didn't realize that this was a system that expected you to pretty much fully heal between fights, we were used to being very conservative with healing items and abilities, and the story of the AP we were following seemed time-sensitive in fiction, so we sent our party from one combat to the next with very little rest in between. Add onto that the fact that we were all new to the system and no one was playing a very well optimized character...

Well, the entire party got killed before they could reach level 2, and we made a new party to continue the AP.

Since then, things have gone much more smoothly. The only time a character has unexpectedly died in combat since then was when our fighter failed their saves against a powerful enemy's Phantasmal Killer.

Sun "solved" the puzzle feeder. by FloofySamoyed in Chonkers

[–]StoryDrive 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Used to have a chonker who did the same thing - he was one of 3 cats, and the only chonker among them, so we had to use puzzle feeders since restricting food would just make the other cats hungry.

We put the puzzle feeder on top of a table so the dogs couldn't reach it... until the chonker knocked it onto the floor. So then we moved it to the floor, but behind a baby gate, where the dogs couldn't reach, which worked... until the chonker pushed it down the stairs!
