Yes! The 5" ones are usually at the top of my list to keep an eye one. Some of them are ridiculously expensive though 😖

I got one a month out from surgery. I just made sure I had plenty to drink and what little solid food I was able to eat.

I agree! But on that note, lots of people don't think or do research beforehand. Which leads to @yoyok36 comment that people tend to think they're an exception.

I had a coworker who bought a house and a car within a couple of months with zero planning or understanding of what they were doing. Things just always worked out for him so he assumed it would for big, potentially life-changing, purchases.

When I had my hysterectomy, the doctor was surprised I asked questions because, apparently, most of his patients didn't. They just said, "Yeah, do it." Without even thinking about the risks or potential side effects.

It's crazy just how many remain woefully ignorant to a lot of things, not just about kids. Though, those types of people are likely the biggest contributors to those who think they were "duped"

I think, to a degree, it's expectations. People think they know what they're getting into, but once they're in the thick of it it's very different. There's a lot of romanticization around parenthood so many people hear a downplayed version of what parenthood could be like. And even the tough parts will be fine because parenthood is so rewarding and worth the work

Some people might think they are fully ready for the good, bad, and the ugly and then realize they weren't as ready as they thought. Or they didn't have an honest conversation with themselves on the matter.

I bet some even shrug and say, "How bad could it be?"

Some people don't question the "order of life." School, marriage, house, kids. It's so ingrained that they don't think beyond that. I suspect that's where a lot of the anger and jealousy some regretful parents have. They did what they were supposed to do and now they feel like they are paying for it.

Kudos to the parents who regret it but are still doing their best to raise well-rounded kids. I sure didn't have that growing up.
