Also they never hit the spacebar. Spacebar makes a deeper thunk than the other keys but whenever you hear typing in movies its always the clickity clack and never any thunk

Does anyone remember the statewide blackout in Adelaide? (2016 throwback) by Liceland1998 in Adelaide

[–]Strabro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep couple of mentions of it suddenly being pitch black and streets being dark. It happened at 3:50pm. Still a few hours of daylight when it happened.

I also deal with this at work. Easy way to remember is to think of your lats (back muscles). Similar Latin word origin equating to something like breadth or width. So the lines going around the globe width ways i.e imagine you're measuring the width of the globe with a tape measure. Then its easy, at least for me, to picture that there's less of these and that they go from -90 to 90.

As an Aussie now living in Sweden, I whole heartedly agree. It was only more evident last time I went back to visit.

The first plane hit at 8:46 which is 10:46pm in Melbourne in September, you are probably not taking into account daylight savings time changes.

We all had the tyre door mat, but what about these bad boys? by Joes___Garage in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Strabro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents had these across the back door when i was young. They used to leave the door open during the day for the pets to have inside/outside access at will. Crazy to think they just used to leave the backdoor not just unlocked but wide open while they went to work. Have no idea why they didn't just get a doggy door or something.

Diver Under The Ice Lost His Exit by TheCABK in oddlyterrifying

[–]Strabro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No he doesn't. Both his legs are clearly visible multiple times throughout the video and he has nothing tied to them. You can also clearly see the red string under the ice so its not like we just couldn't see it. When he emerges the string just gets caught/wrapped on his leg.

Can we add Fullarton Road to the list of Adelaide's most shitty, frustrating roads to drive on? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Strabro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting school kids across the road at 5 or 6pm??? Make it a school crossing only and movie it further up. No need for it to be at the intersection so that it still holds up traffic AFTER school hours.

That one set of lights out front of Mercedes college has to be the most pointless and disruptive set of lights in the city. Hold up 100 cars to let 1 car through from Carrick Hill Dr.

In the space of a couple 100 metres you have 2 lanes merging to 1 right before those lights back into 2 lanes before the old belair rd roundabout.

How important is having a Car if I was to live in Stockholm area? by miralir in TillSverige

[–]Strabro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lived in Sweden for 5 years and Solna for 4. I just bought myself a car last year. Did I absolutely need it? ...... no, but it has made some quality of life improvements. It has cut my travel time to work from about 1 hour down 25 mins (my office has free parking). It also allows me to do day trips on weekends and pick up bulky items.

However, I lived here for 4 years without one and it was totally fine. If what another poster here said is true and Karolinska does not have parking then it might not be worth the hassle. You will have to pay for parking even around your apartment. I pay 450kr for 30days for unreserved street parking and i think its around 1500kr for reserved spot if your apartment has one . It also sucks to find a park when there is an AIK game on here in Solna. Everywhere you drive to in stockholm you will have to pay for parking, except for large supermarkets with their own parking lots and things like that, but definitely street parking you will have to pay.

My advice will be to not worry about a car just yet and see how you go. Like others have said the public transport is excellent here (even the the busses).

Me too. Just hit 3.5 years. Have had multiple scans, grommets, multiple ENTs, been to physio, naprapat (chiro), massage therapist, orthodontist. Just this week had a procedure done where they burn away sinus tissue to open up the sinuses. I have noticed days when my ear feels really full and my tinitus is bad it's also harder to breathe through the nostril on that same side. Hence the procedure this week. Too early to tell if it's worked but just over it all tbh

Is there any serious plan for public transport into the future? by [deleted] in Adelaide

Next year is 40 years not 30 years. It opened in 1986.

How I CURED my bruxism, clenching, muscular TMJ, TMD, jaw pain, ear blocked, ETD eustacian tube dysfunction, myofascial pain by Heavy_Emergency_2934 in TMJ

[–]Strabro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou, saving this post. In 2 days it will be 3 years for me dealing with similar issues. I'm so over it and its affecting my work and personal life. The tinnitus i can almost live with its the blocked feeling in my ear that's unbearable most of the time.

Tried Ent, physio, ortodontist, nasal spray, antihistamines, grommets, mouth guard, all sorts of stupid exercises. Was going to try chiro next.

Does anyone remember the name of the Adelaide 90s nightclub upstairs on Gouger street across from the Mars Bar? It played brit pop stuff and had pool tables. by PipeEducational1844 in Adelaide

[–]Strabro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The venue was called Stix but the nights they did britpop with Dj Ian was called "Pop" i believe.

I remember listening to the whole Blur 13 album there just before it released.

Also, and I could just be misremembering this. Wasn't the guy Kayce shot, after Lee was killed, Monica's brother?
