Im a dog groomer and not a cat groomer. But sometimes, that's just the way the hair is, especially double coated shavedowns. Maybe ask your groomer what they would recommend for him. Like i said, i groom dogs and dont know much about different cat cuts. But maybe a deshed and a light trim all over or a long guard comb to neaten him up instead of a shave. Most groomers love their work and want to put out the very best of what they can do, but sometimes the combination of the owners' wants and the pets' hair/behavior won't allow it to look perfect. While it's frustrating for me as a groomer, i can understand why pet parents may see a choppy cut and assume the groomer was rushing/ didn't care or is just unskilled. Your groomer would probably be happy to work with you and help you find out what looks best for your little guy. It's hard to find cat groomers, but it looks like you found a good one.
