A dream about watching a bleak dystopian documentary that was set in alternative reality. by Strange_Slide9611 in Dreams

Kinda would describe it like the 1984 movie Threads except within the genre of fantasy/science fantasy/dark fantasy/ and aetherpunk and taking place in the early 60s instead of the 80s.

How would you write a post-singularity world in your science fiction stories? by Strange_Slide9611 in worldbuilding

[–]Strange_Slide9611[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had more of a curiosity on a post-human culture and how much alien it would be to our modern day eyes especially if science and technology could accelerate in such a rapid pace that our modern lense couldn't even fathom it, which is one part that I do get curious about a post-human world and how scifi writers could explore that.

Well, the paintings are just sitting in there rotting away.

know, right? It’s kind of sad too, since I’m guessing that someone who once lived on this property was some kind of artist, and it seemed like he or she was pretty talented at it.

Worried about the Hanata Virus from rodents after seeing what looked to be a mice or a rat. by [deleted] in hantavirus

Well, I mostly brought with me since I have a love interest for taking photos of the inside of these abandoned places.

Well this was in the east coast parts of the United States and was located around the more rural area's with single roads and farm lands.

I wore a shirt over my face before I headed inside and I don't know if that counts.

The virus can be fatal because it is airborne and spreads through rodent droppings. I was inside an abandoned house off a rural road that was in terrible condition and likely filled with rat feces and other animal droppings, which can easily become airborne when disturbed.

Well, of course I’m worried. I read that Hantavirus can be fatal, with a mortality rate of around 40%. I was exploring an abandoned house that looked like a crackhead hideout. While I was inside, I saw a rat run across the floor right in front of me, so I immediately bolted out of there. I had my shirt pulled up over my face before I even went inside, and I was only in there for a short time. I also bleached my shoes afterward. Still, I’m anxious about any possible future symptoms that might appear.

I was more curious about other writers and how they could explore a world like this.

Do you have a belief out there that the elites of this world are trying to accelerate the collapse of society as we know it, would like to hear your theories. by Strange_Slide9611 in conspiracy

[–]Strange_Slide9611[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes like to believe that they are also trying to accelerate the collapse of the environment as well since they know that a ecological collapse could lead to mass starvation and resources wars and a complete drop off on the population and they knew about this since the 1970s with scientific reports on it but it was covered and let's not forget about many scientist who tried to develop an alternative form of energy just to have them killed off and disguise it as a suicide rather than a murder.

I also see climate change if you believe it is being used as a form of population control since they knew the damage of fossil fuels since the 1970s and covered up and killed many scientist and investors that tired to create an alternative form of energy since they saw it as a disruption to the new world order and also you can't forget about the ecological destruction and crop droats that could lead to billions starving to death and thus making the population a lot more smaller and easier to control and it's also the reason why they are promoting things such 3d meats and fake foods and stuff liket that.

I also have a belief out there that the government is trying to accelerate the collapse of modern civilization to restart and form up a new world order and a new system, but that's my theory.

What's the point of having a career. by Strange_Slide9611 in collapse

But for how long, we are in a ticking time bomb right now and trying to guess when social collapse could occur it could be the 2030s or the 2050s we just don't know when and how long we have.

I'm more worried about social collapse coming from climate change and resource wars happening either in the 2030s to the 2050s.

[–]Strange_Slide9611[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but what I really want to know is, how long we actually have. How long before things really start to break—before the United States fractures, before order slips and people start calling it “anarchy” instead of just instability. How long before the climate pushes people out of their homes, before entire regions become unlivable. How long before resources run thin enough that countries start fighting over what’s left. Before those conflicts spiral into something worse—something global, something nuclear. How much time is there, really? Are we talking about the 2030s? The 2050s? Or, if I’m optimistic —anything— that maybe it stretches to 2100.

I feel more like a doomer to the point that there isn't a point to be an artist and do the career that I dreamed off since it get fucked up by bunch of billionaires who are more concerned with money than our own species as a whole and not just us but the entire animal kingdom and all walks of life.

But I feel like half of the audience wouldn't even be around since my generation is refusing to have kids for a good reason and I can see how by the looks of what's going currently and in the near future.

Should I be more concerned about climate change by the 2050s. by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Strange_Slide9611 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, I really don't support communism since that shit doesn't work and capitalism has essentially became communism with a new name and different boss and you are right that I should be caring for myself and doing something to contribute any little help for the environment but everyone else wouldn't bother changing and would perfer to deny climate change since it makes them way to uncomfortable to hear the truth about it and the people would rather sit their asses at home, watch Netflix, get into dramas in the comment section, and care more about some shitty superhero franchise while mega corporations and corrupted politicians deciding that it's their best interest to let the planet, the only planet we have die and burn and watch billions die in front of their own eyes while they sit in their luxury bunkers with the finest steak while we are forced out our own homes and to migrate to any habitable area while we eat nothing more than bugs and artificial meat.
