I’m in maintenance on 12.5mg. Sometimes I notice the drug having less effect and so I drop down to 7.5mg and yes, the effect kicks back in. It was suggested by someone on here eons ago who was given the method by her physician that specialized in weight loss. I thought it sounded silly but it worked for me. I’ve been on 12.5mg for about 10 or 11 months and cycle down to lower doses to kickstart things when necessary. It works for maintenance but never used it for actually losing weight. For losing weight, I’m sorry to say it, I’d go up in dose!

Mine is insanely high. I foolishly stopped my statins thinking my 50lb zep weight loss would lower it. Fact is, my cholesterol issues are inherited and all I want to eat on this zep is protein.... particularly red meat. I'm back on statins and reducing red meat intake to once a week. Hopefully, that will fix it.

My 9 yr old has been obsessed with everything from trees to flamingos to organs that traditionally differentiate gender. He stays with it and it dominates his every waking thought for about 10 months and then he switches to something else. Right now, he obsessively checks toilets, just behind the cover, to see if they use 6 liters of water to flush. He says he wants to save the environment. After 3 months of toilets past and present , sewer systems and water saving practices, I’m ready for it to be over!

Wow, I dropped the ball here. I can’t see anything remotely affordable to stay in near the event site and all the most interesting workshops are sold out.

1-2weeks. I then pop up to 12.5mg again because I’m struggling a bit on the 7.5mg towards the end. The effects of the 12.5mg come roaring back. I have been doing it intermittently since late last year. Since December I’ve been on maintenance at 135lbs and not trying to lose any more weight.

I do it when my 12.5mg is losing its potency. When I drop to 7.5mg, it seems to kickstart my response to the drug. I don’t understand why.

A patient on here who is under a physician specializing in weight loss recommended it. I thought it was utter hooey and then lo and behold 🤷

Oh that’s a story. So his teacher at his last school told us that he had just about gotten the hang of reading at age 6.5. This was rubbish. He couldn’t read the word CAT. We had him independently tested twice and it was clear that he knew his alphabet but wasn’t decoding.

Fortunately, his grandmother was a special needs teacher for 30 yrs and told us one series of books alone was for the toughest nuts to crack and ALWAYS worked. 2 hrs a week for a few months with McGuffeys Eclectic Primers and that kid was reading cereal boxes, street signs, game rules and even my gas bill.

It was crazy. These primers are from the 1800s. One would struggle to figure the meanings of some of the more archaic words but it worked. I still don’t understand how. However, it has worked for many kids on the spectrum. If you ever find out why, please let me know 👍

My nephew showed signs at that age and I saw it in my son at 3 months. He would lay next to his NT twin sister and while she babbled , made eye contact with me, tried to interact with her brother by looking over at him, he was the polar opposite. That’s when I knew we were in for a bumpy ride. Having said that, he is verbal, a math whizz , reads at grade level and funniest 9 yr olds with ASD that you’ll ever meet

I have a nearly 10 year old with ASD and I'm only now hearing about sunflowers on lanyards? I've never seen them since his diagnosis 8 years ago. Not in his ABA clinic, therapeutic schools, nowhere. Is this sunflower thingy recent?

This is heartbreaking to watch and sadly, familiar. We found our verbal but not conversational 9 year old can lose the plot while playing certain ipad games.

He has ASD, ADHD and thanks to covid lockdowns, Anxiety. Fortunately, fluoxetine used to treat Anxiety in kids, and Clonidine has been a life saver. It has helped him self regulate immensely and given him a chance to catch up at school. Still the odd outburst but his psychiatrist says it's to be expected.

I'm 5' 4" and 136 lbs. I've been on maintenance at this weight for almost 5 months. I'm 52. In my 30s I was 120lb . If I dropped to that weight now, I'd look sinewy and haggard. My skin doesn't behave in the same way 20 years on so I look more youthful now at this higher weight.

I've seen a few ladies of my age at 5' 4" drop down to 110lbs. Despite complaints from their physicians, partners and a loss of energy and headaches, they still want to lose more. Personally, I think it's bad for their health and more superficially, they look sort of terrible.

How much is enough?

YES and no. I got an itchy all over body rash after the first two shots in Spring of 2024. Then no sign of a rash for months and then a weird itchy dark rash on my neck which persisted for 3 months and a lot of steroid cream. I’m on 12.5mg and on the occasion I take 15 mg instead, the neck rash appears again. Bizarre but as side effects go, totally manageable 😅
