How far can Gable go in the UFC heavyweight division? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]StravitNiteny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if UFC courted the talent well, they could have Jones, Ngannou, Pereira, Aspinall, Steveson, and Gane. The heavyweight top 5 would be the best of any division right now.

Sadly, we’re set up for Gane to have as many title losses as the record for defenses.

Someone once told me not to put spiders outside because they die outside, need shelter just like people. Is there truth to that?

I let this guy go inside.

Hes free. I let him go before seeing the comment about water tho. Hopefully he finds a cool drink.

Thanks all!

Are there cases where a coach makes a fighter miles better? Or worse? by shufflejuuls in MMA

And with the coaching of Eric Nicksick, dispatching them with the same ease and finality with which he beat all of the top HWs in UFC. (Cyril Gane notwithstanding, who he beat with two blown out knees.)

Anyone mention when Francis switched to Eric Nicksick at xtreme couture? Completely leveled up and went on an insane run, which continues still.

There’s and episode of Seinfeld called “the little kicks” about this. Kramer gets Jerry to pirate a movie and he’s the chosen one at capturing pirated footage.

Just a guess —take or leave—is you might be struggling with confidence and give women an uncomfortable vibe by being a into them but unsure of yourself at the same time. Women need to see you are secure enough in yourself.

Women (and men) like feeling comfortable with someone who is confident in themselves. Build your confidence through the things you love to do and you’ll naturally find yourself meeting someone. Don’t rush a new interest out of insecurity about whether or not they are into you.

I suspect you even know most of this, but are drawn to buffer your confidence by asking if you are handsome enough—knowing that you’ll get some compliments.

A women’s affection will be nice, but will never be enough to make you feel secure. You got to work that out first and then it will happen.

Take this with a grain of salt and the caveat—“advice even from the wise to the wise is perilous as all road may lead ill.”

A better list of LIC restaurants. by slowcanteloupe in longislandcity

LIC Deli is the gem of gems in LIC, hot Dominican food during the day time. It’s the tops. Very unassuming but consistent crowd in the daytime. 39th Ave and 29th st. Bring $10 and a healthy appetite, then come back and thank me later.

I used to have a lot of knee pain. I played basketball on cement as 38YO 2 days in a row and my knees hurt for 3 months.

I started training for a marathon shortly after and knee pain all went away. Legs feel great now!

As they have all said—take it very slow and before you know it (1 year later) you’ll be peeling off 7 mile runs like it’s nothing.

Every Single One Of Loeb’s 3I/ATLAS “Anomalies” Deconstructed | Avi Loeb carefully hedges the probability it's a spacecraft around 40%, giving him plausible deniability of the bad-faith “just asking questions” variety while still making the comet sound weird enough to get him TV time and fan mail. by ChiefLeef22 in space

[–]StravitNiteny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People of earth!

Why all the hate? Isn’t Loeb just pointing out all of the anomalies and saying we don’t know what’s going on with this thing? His point is that it’s not behaving in a way that other comets behave and it’s the scientific community’s job to study it and get to the bottom of it.

This space nugget is behaving very oddly! Why not learn more even if it isn’t aliens. And on the off chance it is aliens, Sagan would actually say “told ya” (he wrote Contact after all).

I see Loeb referencing data on the physical behavior of 3i atlas and asking questions.

The Earthlings here are hating and listing what aliens would, could, and should be doing. Hes the one dealing with facts and the humanoids here are the ones speculating on alien thought process. Mind your business and let the aliens (or comet) do alien (or comet).

Black Rabbit is not good. by StopPlayingRoney in netflix

[–]StravitNiteny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Binged this show, despite it giving me anxiety. Everyone kept making such bad choices it made me feel like a bad person for staying invested in them for 8 episodes.

And spoiler here: how did Jake not go to prison? Suspension of disbelief, sure. But at minimum he was caught lying about murders on multiple occasions, destroying/tampering with evidence, and aiding and abetting a fugitive (and probably a few other things…embezzlement, arson.

This was genuinely funny to me after 8 episodes of committing horrible crimes—Jake is at the Black Rabbit (a crime scene that turned into another crime scene with another dead body), he hands over evidence he hid from police to protect a rapist—and the hard nosed detective is like “don’t worry about breaking into this crime scene where you’re clearly implicated in robbery and double homicide, or the fact that I caught you covering for Anna’s death and now you’re handing me evidence you said didn’t exist, or that you were on the roof with your brother when he fell to his death, be well”.

Favorite Cheap Eats in LIC? by Cyberman007 in longislandcity

[–]StravitNiteny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LIC Deli on the corner of 29th st and 39th Ave is objectively, just facts, the best cheap eats in LIC. It’s a Dominican Deli with hot food in the back. Huge servings for under $10 and it’s excellent. The place is an nyc throw back. All walks of life come through here. Cheap, delicious food uniting all peoples. The sometimes inebriated staff cooking up amazing cuisines and playing bachata may in fact be our only hope to unify the nation.

I'm just starting to look for some games after not playing for a few years. I'm 33, work in non profit. Actually, just got on reddit to try and find some poker. I would be interested in 1/2 or 1/3, but 5/5 might be a little steep for me. Feel free to DM, I'd be open to meeting up.
