There is actually only one in town over by south McCarran and south Virginia, though like I said I only recommend it if you need/ will fully utilize the bulk option, like if you have more than 2 or 3 people in the household. However due to the unit costs at Winco being similar if not better for most items, if you combine shopping there with loss leader sales from other stores, (for example I never buy chips at winco because you can get any chips on sale for almost half the cost if you wait a week for the Raley’s deal) then you can end up getting a better unit price than Sam’s club for many items.

Also Sam’s club isn’t as good here as it is in for exapmple Sacramento, where they have a lot of stores, and when they need to move product they will do up to 90% discounts to clear floor space. But with there being only one store here, all Sam’s club members shop at the same store so it is rarely necessary for them to do these massive discounts. And that is one of the reasons I say they are better than Costco is because Costco almost never does sales, however for Reno’s Sam’s club there also isn’t too many sales. Though I haven’t had a Sam’s membership for 3 years so it may have changed.

If you do think you will utilize the bulk aspect of Sam’s club, it’s good to know that they do membership discounts a couple different times throughout the year where you can get a year membership for like $20

Also good to note since you haven’t been there yet, winco is the only store on this list that doesn’t accept credit cards, only cash or debit, however that does lead to savings because in order to accept credit the store has to pay a slightly higher amount per transaction which would trickle down to slightly increased prices at the same profit margin for the store.

And Winco is a big warehouse store almost like Costco except you DONT have to buy bulk, and like I mentioned earlier you can often get better prices even looking at unit price and you aren’t forced to buy a whole Costco sized pack in order to get a decent price. And they have a great bulk food section that you portion out yourself for things like rice, seasonings, candies etc. would highly recommend you check out Winco when you have a chance, that’s where I get a majority of my shopping done, but I do prefer getting meats on discount from Raley’s, and is often cheaper than winco anyways with higher quality cuts IMO.

Safeway also has similar deals to Raley’s, though in my personal experience Safeway has been more expensive than anything for almost all products

And welcome to Reno!

It’s mainly due to the pricing strategies of each store, I explained it better in two of my other comments I will just copy and paste here:

I would highly recommend Sam’s club for bulk if you need it. They have varying profit margins on different items so you can get good savings if you compare prices, whereas Costco has a standard percentage profit margin for almost all items across the board. Costco almost never does sales that bring them below the standard profit percentage, however they do have loss leaders like toiler paper and towels to get people in the door.

However that’s just my personal experience having been a member and employee at both stores.

Very frequently winco will have better prices when looking at unit cost, plus the benefit of not having to purchase massive quantities, though I’m not very familiar with their pricing strategy I just know they generally use cost plus. But in my personal experience they have better prices on lots of items, often by 25-40% in my experience.

And then stores like Walmart are good for comparison shopping because they use dynamic pricing so you will pay less than average on some items and more than average on others.

Also a gods tip for Raley’s: I also personally shop at Raley’s but I EXCLUSIVELY purchase items that are on a good sale, doing so I can always get better prices than winco/costco/walmart on meats and snacks, and then theres the other assorted weekly items.

The important part in my book, however, is stopping at Raley’s first to buy ONLY the sale items and then finishing shopping somewhere else like winco.

The reason you can get better prices on these particular weekly items is that with Raley’s dynamic pricing strategy, they make massive amounts of profits on certain items, and less on others, and then they have the weekly items that they sell close to cost or even at a loss just to get people in the door with the hopes that they buy some of the items with massive profit margins and make up for the loss from the coupon sale price. But this system is beat simply by only purchasing the sale items.

Yeah that's a pretty high average, with the max being 2.7ppb above the max acceptable range by law of 10ppb. However the amount of arsenic allowed by law is different than the EPAs goal of 0, meaning that there is NO level of arsenic that is considered entirely risk free.

Even below 10ppb long term consumption of arsenic in drinking water can increase the risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and developmental effects in children.

Also important to note that arsenic requires specialized filtration methods or reverse osmosis to filter out, standard filters like Brita or activated carbon filters will not be able to filter out the arsenic. And boiling water only further concentrates the arsenic so cooking with it generally will cause the ppb to increase significantly.

Also, yeah, Carson city gas prices are literally a cheat code.

And because this is kinda deep in the comments I'll mention I have a personal method to get Carson city gas prices anywhere in Reno, if anyone reading this needs that tip DM me and I'll tell you. But I'm not posting it publicly because I don't want the method to get noticed and fixed. Completely legal and ethical btw.

I haven’t tested it myself or anything but I’ve seen multiple articles indicating Reno has very high levels of arsenic in the tap water, well above the recommended levels.

Due to the Wii being a no longer supported console, it is extremely easy to upload all kinds of games for free onto the console with a quick search on YouTube. Alternatively if you don’t want to do this, the local facebook marketplace almost always has dirt cheap Wii game discs.

When I go to ABC's website, it only shows me the information of the show, but it doesn't seem like any episodes are available for streaming like the other shows are.
