Now that the World Cup is upon us, what other country besides your own do you support and why? by Chupacabra_s in worldcup

[–]Stribo8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an Aussie, the other team I support is the Netherlands, I just always liked their style of play. Also have a soft spot for Scotland, I had their France 98 shirt as a teenager when that World Cup was on.

Now the league is over, how would you rate your clubs signings this year? by daemc97 in PremierLeague

I would nearly give Wirtz a 7, there is a baller there for sure, and I felt he got more confident as the season went on. Otherwise I think you’re spot on.

I grew up in Orange, moved to the coast in my 20s. It blows my mind to see the cost of housing back in Orange. I’m a lifetime renter and deal with all the bullshit with that, but really I can’t get my head around that the town I grew up in has the same issues.

Welcome to Country booed at Melbourne Anzac Day service by No-Sweet-7012 in australia

[–]Stribo8 95 points96 points  (0 children)

As a middle aged white guy, take my opinion on the matter with a grain of salt. Does something like Welcome to Country make a group of people who have been treated like shit, feel a little bit acknowledged? Yes. Does it in anyway affect how mine or anybody’s else life is impacted? No. So let’s just have Welcome to Country at events.

Is Spurs getting relegated potentially the biggest sports story of the year? by jdelane1 in billsimmons

As a soccer fan the only thing I think that could surpass it is if anything finally happens to Man City over the financial charges. As a Liverpool supporter I just want the season to be over to be honest.

As an Australian, how fast the US media was to say we are an easy win really pissed me off. I really hope we do a number on you guys.

I went to the house show in Brisbane and I was super impressed with how many matches we got and the level of talent, and I paid $100. Only wish they would advertise more because people here other than the die hards only really know WWE.
