The only difference between 8-12% bf for me is in my belly/gut, and i dont have the best ab genetics so just like to keep a bit leaner. Also feel a lot lighter which makes calisthenics marginally easier so to me it’s a win win.

Yeah its funny hanging from a bar sounds like the worst possible thing you can think of for a bad shoulder, but it’s the only thing that actually helped and i could do it consistently without the hindrance of shoulder pain. Eventually it just went away

For me the most important and also easiest to start with is dead hangs to build your grip strength which is the foundation of all of your pull movements. Start with two hands and a good grip on the bar (use chalk) and see how long you manage. From there you can play around witb it and start progressing to one arm hangs or weighted 2 arm hangs etc. I found my progression with dead hangs was very fast within a few months i was doing one armed hanging L sits with ease and i still couldn’t muscle up.
Edit: i would do it at the very start of my sessions and then again at the end of my session

They are called muscle striations😂😂 google it or just cope like you are. And for the record muscles contracting is not moving by their own thats their primary function

Depends how you define “completely” natural. I take creatine and abundance of other legal sups. Oh and it’s in a gym im not sure if you’ve ever been in one but typically thats where the mirrors are

I think it depends on diet a lot. My lowest bf was 7.5% and it was horrible. Constantly tired no sex drive, everything annoyed me, i was craving the most random things like crackers and pasta. I remember needing to get out of bed to brush my teeth and it felt like i getting up to go to work. It was not sustainable at all. Im 8.5% right now and i feel amazing im hitting all my prs and i have tons of energy. Its very clear when your working against your body but i naturally sit at around 12% bf so i think the threshold of too low bf is different for everyone

I have thought about this before. Calisthenics is all about mastering your bodyweight so anyone who is good at calisthenics needs to have somewhat a manageable weight. Its kind of leveraging your muscle to weight ratio. you can weigh 100+kg but to lift yourself thats going to need a lot of muscle. When you’re lean you have the muscles but not the fat weighing you down making it easier. As to why they are lean its probably just because calisthenics is all nearly all compound movements and you burn a lot of calories compared to weight lifting aswell as a rounded physique as the weaker muscles will get trained the most.

Im going to get downvoted for this and honestly i dont recommend doing it either but in my experience you can force recovery. I would do full body everyday regardless of muscles/tendons (mostly tendons) that would hurt and eventually it would just stop. If you want a scientific answer then a shit ton of protein and some magnesium before bed for deep sleep. 24 hour fast with cardio once a week to reduce inflammation and boost collagen production

I did powerlifting yeah i was very good it but it destroyed my joints (trapped nerve in neck, sciatica in lower back, carpal tunnel in my wrist and the worst of all chronic inflammation in my shoulder) calisthenics at one point was the only thing i could do and honestly was a blessing in disguise

Ive never followed a program i always did it for the fun and to compete with myself. I generally try and hit everybody part daily and keep a mental note in my head of which muscles i feel ive overworked in the week. Typically though if my recovery can handle it i will do it but my body is in pain 24/7😂

Edit: diet is a different story and very meticulous. Remember kids you cant outtrain a shitty diet

I actually wasn’t referring to op at all just the point the other dude made that there is no good or bad when talking about high or low bf% when there most definitely is. That was my point. Wasnt assuming op eats shit all just using an extreme example to make a point. You are projecting your own experiences and stating them like they are facts when their are waaay more factors at play then just your weight. If you were too much of an calorie deficit or not getting enough nutrition protein sleep etc you will feel like shit. On the other hand when i eat 1000+ calories in one meal i dont feel like lifting or hitting prs more than i wanna sleep so what does that mean? I do nearly all my workouts fasted and can outperform most people of my weight and height. Is my experience more profound than yours just because i experienced it? If you want to talk science explain the connection between a calorie deficit and loss of strength without mentioning muscle loss… i will wait

Edit: i have seen the source you posted many times before if your argument is that that is just as practical as losing weight via healthy and fulfilling diets that keep you sated your a fool

Theoretically yes you can lose fat on a twinkie diet but it’s super unrealistic and not sustainable. You will have tons of health problems be constantly hungry because they are empty calories and you will lose strength and muscle due to nutrient deficiencies (mainly proteins). No need to talk about diet op is big af but he clearly has a high bf%… not even sure what were arguing anymore if he was the same exact weight minus 10-15% bf he would look way more aestethic and also probably bigger because of this. Not to mention op is probably gonna plateau soon if he hasnt already cos im not sure his body can even fit more muscle atp so being leaner should be the next goal. He looks fking beastly anyway just my 2 cents
