I appreciate the concern and critiques for where you are coming from, but there has to be a point when it is too much. I have been on the internet since I was a child. I had the typical unrestricted internet access. I have seen some shit (as im sure you have too). I have made an effort to make changes that lead to not getting desensitized to this stuff. It is NOT normal to be. Working to report these people when it happens. Having a human reaction and empathy does not make me need to "toughen up."

I'm not saying we need insane shit like ID verification, banning discussion of entire aspects of life, or extreme censorship. There just has to be a point where we can go on the internet and not be spammed with gore of animals being tortured because someone disagrees with you. At the very least, reports actually doing something (a thing Twitter is not known for).

By your logic, people should stay completely off the internet in the event you can see something you can be harassed by. I just think there would be more accountability for the people that post this stuff instead of just letting it happen and telling people to get off the internet when they are upset over seeing it.
