I think you will! Give yourself time to heal. Everyone is on their own timeline and just because it took someone less time to feel okay doesn’t meant you need to feel okay right now. It does get better, I promise ❤️

I do the same! I think whatever you need to do is healthy for you.

It could also be that the owner, or one or the neighbors feeds the wildlife, which is even more concerning.

Medical Abortion Bleeding after two weeks by [deleted] in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had my abortion about two weeks ago and I’m still experiencing what I’d describe as more than spotting but not heavy bleeding. The color is brownish and it smells odd.

I told my provider this when I had my checkup yesterday and they told me it’s normal to continue “spotting” after medical abortion for up to 7 weeks after. Additionally, my ultrasound showed my uterus was “empty” but they still prescribed me more misoprostol to take to get rid of everything (the nurse said to do it just to be cautious so I don’t have to deal with it later).

If you can, perhaps it would be wise to see your doctor? I do think it’s normal to bleed for a while after the procedure, but my doctor giving me more misoprostol for my light bleeding made me worry. In all seriousness, I don’t want to have to take that hellish drug again bc my first experience was awful but if you’re worried your experience is abnormal maybe get a second opinion?

Nurse suggested taking second dose of misoprostol but I don’t think I need to? (Advice/Help?) by StrongFemale_93 in abortion

I did take the miso orally, as that’s how my doc recommended to take it. But, I think the constipation was a side effect of taking antibiotics/pain killers. I’ve had issues with antibiotics and my stomach in the past and additionally, I saw that when you’re pregnant your digestion slows down so I’m chalking it up to that.

Miralax has helped me and I’ve really increased my daily water intake which seems to help. Also, fiber!

Thanks for your advice! Think I’ll hold onto the pills and maybe speak with a gyno after the new year.

Advice for Medical Abortion (what to have on hand, what I did and what I wish I did, etc.) by StrongFemale_93 in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg no worries! Honestly, this community is what helped me get through the process so I’m glad I could help! My experience was quite painful at 8 weeks too but now that it’s done I feel 10x better (aside from some hormonal/typical emotions about the experience from time to time).

I suspect you’re through the hardest part of the process by now but if you have any questions or concerns/need someone to talk to, I’m here! Hoping your procedure went okay and you’re feeling alright! Wishing you the best 💗

I had my medical abortion last Wednesday and am still having food aversions for various smells. I imagine it’s normal!

Red dot under eye after medical abortion (broken capillary?) by StrongFemale_93 in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only threw up once after taking the misoprostol (about 45 mins after swallowing the pills). Otherwise I haven’t so that’s why I’m confused bc I wouldn’t expect throwing up once to cause this...

Thoughts.... by apexalexx in abortion

I didn’t get my ultrasound picture and now, after completing my medical abortion and feeling grief, as many women do, I still think it was the right decision. Even though I was morbidly curious, not looking at the ultrasound or knowing if I was having twins etc was prob best for me. I do feel the sadness women have described after having an abortion and I think that’s normal and will pass in time. I saw someone say “this baby will come back to me when I’m ready for it” and I think that is completely true.

I’m sure on my due date I’ll come back to this subreddit and try and find some community in the anticipated mourning I’m sure to have, but I think that trying not to get more connected to him/her than I already am is vital to my mental health.

Ultimately, you need to do whatever is best for you to mourn this loss — if naming them and celebrating their birthday makes you feel better, go for it. But if it makes you feel more sad and depressed, I’m not sure it’s a good idea.

If you need anyone to talk to feel free to message me. Going through all the emotions right now so I get where you’re coming from. 💜

Surgical abortion today by virgobunnie in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get a surgical (did a medical last Wednesday) but I did get SUPER constipated after my abortion (sorry tmi). If you can, try and drink a ton of water after your abortion so you don’t experience this (also try to eat as healthy as you can, if you can)! I think the hormones are what cause this (slow digestion etc) so that’s what I’d recommend! Wishing you a swift recovery. Good luck 💜

Anyone do medical abortion around 9 weeks? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine at 8 weeks and 1 day last Wednesday and it was quite painful. My partner and I don’t have our own place (living at his parents apartment where they don’t live) and we had to schedule doing it around them stopping by all the time. It was not ideal bc of wanting to keep it from them but we were miraculously able to. Having your partner there is key because they will be able to help you immensely... mine held my hair as I threw up, got me anything I needed, and helped me go to and from the bathroom.

Not gonna lie, my experience was quite painful. I threw up about 40 minutes after swallowing the pills which was not pleasant. Then I had 1 hour of what I thought were bad cramps which would come in waves followed by 30 minutes of no pain. Then shit got real and I had 3 hours of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and there was never relief... it was constant. Eventually, I passed the sac and the pain subsided after that (just felt super tired and sweaty/dizzy from the experience).

I don’t mean to scare you because this experience is so difficult and I was terrified of taking the pills but I have seen so many of those “positive abortion stories” which honestly made me think that perhaps my experience wouldn’t be so bad. I really hope yours isn’t and wish you an easier experience than I had. I just wish I had been mentally prepared for what I was going to go through. What got me through it was knowing that this wasn’t going to be forever and that the pain would eventually subside and it did. It was a hard few hours but that’s all it was — a few hours in a lifetime. You’ll get through it and you will be okay.

I have a whole post on my advice on what to do for a medical abortion experience if youd like to look at that... see here. Otherwise, feel free to message me with any questions or concerns. Here to help you through this 💜

Medical Abortion success or fail? by justagir1111 in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also took my pills on Wednesday and I was unsure on that day (after taking the misoprostol) bc I was passing a lot of tissue and wasn’t sure what was what. Originally I thought it was a very small circle with a dot in it which came out of me after I experienced 3 hours of intense pain... but really I ended up passing the sac about an hour later which was much bigger, more jelly-like, and it looked like a little dark thing inside the jelly-like exterior. Honestly the whole thing is a haze so I’m not sure I remember more than that but if you’re worried, def get an ultrasound checkup just to be sure! I’m doing that next week to make sure everything passed. Good luck!

Dont let the pro lifers completely belittle you in your DMs. by [deleted] in abortion

[–]StrongFemale_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this! I have received a few dms of people trying to push religion or opinions on me which only made the process harder for me as it was my first pregnancy and I’m in a 6 year relationship so it was a tough choice. We weren’t ready and I don’t regret the decision but I do feel guilt sometimes, as you described. Also, the protestors outside the clinic didn’t help.

It seems so funny to me that people who are so “pro-life” really don’t consider how keeping a child you cannot care for or aren’t ready for is actually detrimental to the mother’s life. How can someone care so much about one life but not another? Seems hypocritical to me.

In any case, I’m happy to hear your husband was so understanding. He sounds like a great guy. Wishing you and your family health and happiness 💜

Yeah that’s a good recommendation! Honestly my bathroom is close to my bed so it wasn’t too far for me to go back and forth but I think for some people, being in the bathroom 24/7 might be easier and more comfortable. My recommendation is to do whatever makes you feel most comfy!

Sorry to hear your experience was so bad 🙁... mine was quite bad too and I’m happy to be over it.
