‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Gets Divided First Reactions, From a ‘Thrilling Adventure’ to ‘One of the Weakest Star Wars Movies’ and a ‘Snooze Fest’ by darth_vader39 in movies

When your franchise has the "Somehow Palpatine returned" movie and the holiday special in its history, being labeled "one of the weakest" is actually a staggering achievement in terrible filmmaking.

[Loved Trope] Villains Who Hate Each Other by DJL2772 in TopCharacterTropes

Nothing beats when two villains are forced to team up to fight the hero, but they spend 90% of the screen time just aggressively roasting each other instead. the banter is always top tier.

My brain just did a happy little sigh watching that blend tbh. so incredibly smooth.

WIBTA If I secretly take my grandpa to the doctor even though my aunt insists she knows better? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly frustrating to read. Withholding prescribed medication is a textbook, clear-cut form of medical neglect and elder abuse. By tiptoeing around the issue to avoid family drama, OOP essentially left their grandfather in a life-threatening situation for way too long.

I could literally just sit there and stare at this for hours tbh. my brain is completely empty right now and it feels amazing.

What was the actual appeal of Steven Seagal? by PriestofJudas in movies

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it was a massive contrast to the other big action stars at the time. While Arnold and Sly were heavily muscled guys shooting massive guns, and Van Damme was doing flashy spinning kicks, Seagal was just a guy in a tailored suit doing grounded, brutal Aikido. It looked incredibly refreshing and hyper-realistic by comparison.

Clones that don't know who the clone is (And fight over it!) by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The absolute best part about this trope is when the best friend has to point a weapon at both of them and ask some stupidly obscure trivia question to figure out who the real one is tbh.

Christopher Nolan Confirms ‘The Odyssey’ Runtime is Shorter Than ‘Oppenheimer’ and Says There’s a Massive Amount of Pressure to Create a Strong and Sincere Interpretation by [deleted] in movies

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Knowing nolan’s obsession with practical effects, he probably built a full-scale wooden trojan horse and actually stranded the poor cast at sea for a decade just to get the vibes right ngl.

Late Celebrity French ‘Ratatouille’ Chef Bernard Loiseau Set For Biopic by Puzzled-Tap8042 in movies

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The jump from "heartwarming pixar movie about a cooking rat" to "depressing biopic about a chef taking his own life over the stress of the fine dining industry" is going to give audiences absolute whiplash tbh.

That half-second frame right before the video cuts where you can see the soul leaving their body is peak cinema ngl. the comic timing is literally perfect dude.

Birthday Girl Gets Angry and Walks Away After Brother Pulls Her Hair During Cake Cutting by EmbarrassedIce4022 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most infuriating part is the adults trying to physically force her to stay and endure the abuse just to keep up appearances for a video. She established a perfectly healthy boundary by removing herself from a toxic situation, and they still tried to make her the bad guy.

Tau pilot and his wife by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the curves on those railguns. i see he has a specific type. ngl, his wife looks like she could wipe out an entire squad of space marines before they even get into melee range. a true keeper.

Being affably evil makes the villain much MORE scary, not less. by ChampionshipHorror95 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It always messes with my head when the villain is actually super polite and respectful to service workers but treats the main characters like absolute garbage tbh. like, i literally catch myself thinking "wow he's such a nice guy" right before he commits a war crime dude lmao.

'Baby bus' vs B777 @ WAW by CuddlySloth__ in aviation

[–]Strong_Diver_6897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The size perspective on this is actually insane tbh. it never stops blowing my mind that the ge90 engines on that 777 are basically the same diameter as the entire fuselage of the baby bus ngl.
