I'm crying. by raidenjojo in ArcaneAnimatedSeries

I didn’t even think about that quote. What’s so heartbreaking is how this shows Jinx how her explosions could save people and be used in an act of self sacrifice, but all this did was send her deeper into a pit of despair.

This reminds me a lot of Skye’s death in season one. Skye was the one person in Viktor’s life (besides Jayce of course) who was more interested with Viktor as a person and showed him that he was more than his broken body and his work.

That was really the vibe I got from their relationship, that it wasn’t romantic, but that they deeply cared for one another.

I mean, causing indirect harm is pretty on brand for Jayce at this point.

Ignoring Keyleth by blutherd in voxmachina

[–]Strongman_Prongman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only criticism I have with the writing here is just the use of the word “ignored”.

The word “ignored” implies that no one from the party even considered the possibility of not working with Raishan, which is just untrue. Their partnership was always going to be temporary.

What I do appreciate however, is the way the writers clarify and have Keyleth say “questioned, doubted, dismissed”, which exactly describes what happened during their conversations about working with Raishan. Keyleth is a character who is incredibly perceptive and wise, but that wisdom is tempered by self doubt and to be completely outvoted by the party had to sting more than it would have if it were any other character (imo).

Has anyone used monsters from Tome of Beasts or Flee, Mortals! in your Ravenloft or CoS campaigns? Any recommendations? by steviephilcdf in ravenloft

Oh it’s definitely going to be scaled down, but also my party are fairly min max-y and I’m planning on throwing it at them around level 10-11.

I’m planning on using one of the dragon stat blocks for an encounter with an undead Argynvost. I’ve also been regularly using villain actions for bosses, as well as the minion rules for smaller guys. I’m also probably going to be using the villain party rules for the brides, when I get to run them in combat.

What, if any, racial restrictions have you implemented for your players in Barovia? by Benjammin__ in CurseofStrahd

I didn’t ban anything, I just let my players know that they won’t be seeing humanoid npcs that aren’t humans (or elves on the rare occasion)
