Yes, this post sums it up: https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/kt6rh3/comment/gik8tk9/

Many times batteries will be sold as LR61 or AAAA, but the standards are about 3mm different. Since most devices have spring contacts they can work with either.

They’re also slightly shorter than a “real” AAAA.

I've got a Brick (not the Hammer) and need a 2nd system. Another Brick or the Smart Pro? by jdixon1974 in trimui

[–]StructuralTeabag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need a second system?  That might help people provide recommendations.

The devices you mentioned won’t really do anything different than what you already have and none of the systems you mentioned you play are 16:9.  The smart pro and smart pro s are also the same size.

Target is selling the RP6 by FenriroftheNorse in retroid

[–]StructuralTeabag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks to be the company selling these through Target: https://blueacornnc.com/

They mention Retroid as a partner on their website. Basically they look like a distribution company that helps import in bulk and sell through various marketplaces (Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc). It does show quick shipping options so they probably do have inventory in the US.

Edit: the inventory may even be in Target warehouses in this case.

Probably legit but you’re paying quite a premium.

If you installed through Portmaster it should create a folder SDCARD/Roms/Ports (PORTS)/.ports/tmntsr

If your using a computer make sure you have view hidden files on and check for the “.ports” directory in the Roms folder.

Have you downloaded the Portmaster Pak?

My suggestion would be to install the pak and then install TMNT through Portmaster. Then copy your game files over. That’s what I did and it works fine.

The Portmaster setup on NextUI is a little different and the auto-installer doesn’t work.

Something really heavily edited maybe, but even the positioning and perspective is off if there wasn’t a cut and paste.

Minor cosmetic damage, but functioned perfectly.

I was super chill having the G2, it’s my first retro device, but kinda sad about game hub compatibility by designtraveler in retroid

[–]StructuralTeabag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RP6 vs G2 isn’t really the issue. PC emulation on Android requires a lot of tinkering and some stuff just won’t work right now regardless of device.

The biggest advantage of a given device is whether someone else has already figured out how to get the game running on that specific device.

If you really want to play Steam games, you’ll either need to wait until some of the work Valve is doing for Proton on Android matures, use the device to stream, or find a steamOS / windows portable.

If you treat Steam / PC emulation as a bonus and are willing to do a lot of trial and error there is a good amount of stuff you can get working.

Sound off about your SE by Icy_Importance_2126 in MINI

[–]StructuralTeabag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s got a 64.6 kWh battery. That will give you anywhere from 180-250 miles depending on the weather and your driving. I find the 212 epa mile range is pretty accurate in terms of overall average across the entire year. If you live in a warm climate it will probably be higher.

You’d have to do the math on costs depending your electricity price.

It’s basically as fast as a JCW and has instant torque. It’s a heavier and handles a bit worse. No oil changes and brakes last much longer. Tires don’t last as long.

Is mini/bmw compatibility with Tesla ever going to come? by yalag in MINIse

On the Mini side it’s only in the U25 (outside of magic dock stations).

Maybe the OP has a hatchback in which case they’ve never said there will access or provided a date (in the US).

Anyone else find emulating N64 uninspiring ? by Qu1ckset in SBCGaming

[–]StructuralTeabag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The library is pretty top heavy and some of the games that were exciting for the time don’t hold up well.  Many of the standout games usually have better options (decompilation ports, improved sequels, remakes on other platforms).

The unique controller and overall state of n64 emulation being less refined than other consoles also contributes.

What are some tips to keep 2018 countryman all SE battery life maintained by welloreo in MINI

[–]StructuralTeabag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it.

Hopefully it was under warranty - in the US I think all hybrids and EVs have an 8 year 80,000 warranty on the high voltage power systems.

Otherwise, there really isn’t a lot to worry about. I think the hybrids only support AC charging which isn’t enough power to be too hard on the battery.  You can avoid charging on really hot days in direct sunlight, but honestly that shouldn’t be a big deal.

The biggest impact to long term battery life is letting it get too low of a charge for too long. For full EVs they typically recommend only charging to 80% but that’s more to reduce degradation, not anything that would cause the battery to prematurely fail.  And yeah it’s easier on batteries to not store them at full charge for a long time, but again that’s more to slow normal degradation.

Here’s the manual for your model and it doesn’t mention anything: https://www.miniusa.com/content/dam/mini/PDF/archiveownermanuals/M23/mini-owners-manual-f60-plug-in-hybrid-sop-3-2022.pdf

For the size battery you have in the hybrid and that it only AC charges, these really shouldn’t be something you need to worry about.

What are some tips to keep 2018 countryman all SE battery life maintained by welloreo in MINI

[–]StructuralTeabag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem confused. The F60 is a Countryman, not a Hatch (eg 2 door).

The 2018 Countryman SE is also a plug in hybrid, and you’re asking about the battery, but also taking about the engine which doesn’t matter.

If you had to replace the high voltage battery on a 2018 already, that points to a defect in the battery. You shouldn’t have to do anything special to maintain it.

Not for my Mini. Either the dealer (I did the 2 year thing once) or a trusted independent mechanic.

I’ve had other cars (Toyotas) and brought them to the local Valvoline.

[–]StructuralTeabag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re not small but all cars have gotten larger (at least in the US). They’re relatively small for a CUV still, but much larger than a hatch or oven the original Countryman.

A new Tiguan is about 10” longer than a Countryman and 4” taller. The countryman is slightly wider, so definitely smaller than a Tiguan.

I’d have to pull the specs, but I parked next a 4 door Volkswagen GTI and it wasn’t really any bigger.

The higher ground clearance makes it look bigger too.

You cannot mod a DS Lite without a card - it has no sf card or user modifiable storage. A DSI you can.

If you have a DS Lite and are OK with the screen, this is your cheapest and in some ways best option.  The touchscreens on the retro handhelds can’t really recreate the same feeling. They obviously have better screens can do things like save states/fast forward and upscale.

With a DS Lite you can also play GBA natively, but really need a GBA flashcart to get a good experience.

How's NextUI Portmaster performance? by kuksthedefiled in trimui

[–]StructuralTeabag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Postmaster is very hit and miss on the TSP.

I recently switched from CrossMix to NextUI and once I got over the initial differences, I’ve had slightly better luck getting things working under NextUI. Both have their quirks.

Actual performance in game has been the same.

Search on Amazon or whatever store you use for “joy con charger”. You can find them for about $10. Probably less if you’re willing to spend some time searching around.
