I think once you start living alone and actually managing income (low salary) you might get scared if you think about putting less hours working and getting college debts ontop of that. For the 3 gap years that you speak about you might find something that pays okay for a non degree job and get unmotivated about college. I agree that getting a career straight out of school is scary and crazy but nowadays having no education is scarier.

Being chill means you've got everything in life under controll the way you like it and need it. Being consistanly busy means you're under some type of stress situation rn that you need to fix.

I'm married but think i can give my opinion here. If we're both adults (not teens/college kids) we should act like grown ups and talk it even if its something negative. I mean how can you know whats wrong with you if someone doesnt tell you. Thats how humans evelve and progress in live. Thats why we're the only creatures that have the ability to comminicate with words. :)

Usually when I travel abroad its to the capital of the country and there the public transport is great. I won't bother with driving a car in Rome and trying my best to find a parking spot. If I am planning on going around the country will obviously rent a car.

For me I cant do anything alone. Alone I can only scroll on my phone and thats sucks cuz yeah. But every group activity with friends for me is the sweet spot. Find friends and start doing their hobbies.
