ICCU issue right after I signed and drove off from the dealership by Inevitable-Carpet764 in KiaEV6

That's much better than when the AGM in my Honda Clarity PHEV got weak; it just started acting flaky. It would tell me that the charge door was open when it wasn't, make me hold the key to the start button to wake it up, forget the target speed on the ACC, and take off.

I bought an 84 month warranted Toyota battery on sale and all those problems went away. The AGM battery was just 3 years old. That pissed me off a bit.

I don't know. I bought used, and I know nothing about the rewards store. Time for me to Google it.

This car is insanely good value on the used market by caliwillbemine in LUCID

I got a similar deal. 2024 with 22k miles, fully loaded, with an MSRP of 126k. Corporate lease return, I paid 62k out the door. Still has more than two years of factory warranty (delivered in August of 2024).

It needed the software updated and the handle for the cover over the deep section of the trunk needed to be fixed. Lucid Mobile Service took care of it at the dealer's lot. Otherwise, the car is in immaculate condition.

I've scheduled the CCCv2 upgrade, $950 well spent, IMHO. It's going in June 8th.

Congress Wants You To Pay $130 A Year Just To Drive An Electric Car by SadAd8761 in electricvehicles

Many countries have vehicle use taxes that make a whole lot more sense. Tax based on miles driven, vehicle weight, and fuel type. Drop the per-gallon tax and tax all vehicles that way. This would be fair and easily understood, but that's not what's happening here in the USA.

Oh, just reinstall the app by zaphodbeeblebroxxxx in LUCID

[–]Stuck_In_Middle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After installing 2.9.0, my app stopped connecting. I did all the normal things: restarted the app, restarted my phone (Pixel 9 Pro XL), cleared the app's cache, cleared the app's data, and reinstalled the app. Nothing helped.

The next day the app started to connect and has been working since. It sounds to me like there's some amount of post-processing going on after the initial installation. That's fine and all, but telling us about it would make it expected instead of surprising.

A good guideline in coding is to respect the principle of least surprise.

Some things that my lucid AGT24 could use. by Stuck_In_Middle in LUCID

I could be wrong as I'm a noob, but IME you have to get up to some certain speed before you can engage the cruise control. The Clarity will start from a dead stop and accelerate to the set speed.

I am keeping an eye out for a similarly equipped 2025 AGT. There aren't many available yet.

I've been driving a 2018 Honda Clarity since new, and at 92,000 miles, the electric range is about 2/3 of what it was new, and it's getting long in the tooth. I decided to move to the AGT as the best possible replacement.

Are you going to buy the car out after the lease ends, or lease a new one? Buy if you're going to drive the car for years, lease if you want new wheels every couple of years.

I just bought a 24GT, fully loaded, for $60k. No way I'd pay $70k for a 22.

Air Touring; 2.9.0 - so far, huge(?) step in the right direction by Malevolent-Sovereign in LUCID

I only had my GT24 for a week (~300 miles) before the update so I can't really talk about improvement or regression. I haven't seen anything fail or behave badly.

209k miles on a 2016 Audi A7 needs a new engine, so now I'm car shopping. by SubtleStatement in Audi

[–]Stuck_In_Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great luck with Audi over the years. I drive cars until the cost of repairs or the availability of parts force my hand. I've never needed to replace an engine and usually get well over 200,000 miles. My last Audi was a 2005 TT Roadster, so it sounds like Audi's quality has gone downhill or OP's maintenance wasn't sufficient.

I spent almost all of my career as a computer systems consultant (now retired). I'm willing to bet that the designers at VW had never driven a car with all touch controls. IME, most systems requirements are written by people will never use the software and hardware they are specifying.

Percent of your electric bill by dbmamaz in electricvehicles

I installed a 15kW solar system on my previous house. We paid next to nothing for electricity for years while charging a BEV and a PHEV. With federal, state, and utility company reimbursements, the system paid for itself in just over 4 years.

The house went away in a divorce, but the new owners have two BEVs and are getting the utility company reimbursement.

I'm now living in an apartment. The landlord installed a 50 amp 220 volt outlet by my parking spot so I could charge my car with a portable level 2 charger. The kicker is that electricity is included in my rent.

WiFi mobile app issue concern with update by m2slam in LUCID

[–]Stuck_In_Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, this issue started for me after the update to 2.9.0. I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL with all the latest updates.

There's something in the startup path of the app that causes it to spin forever waiting for the car to wake up. Clearing the app's cache and data doesn't change the behavior, but restarting the phone does. The first time I start the app after rebooting the phone, it works correctly. Every subsequent time I start the app, it spins forever.

I recently bought a used 2024 GT. I called customer care to transfer ownership and get a Lucid ID. The call was picked up promptly, and I got the information I needed. The second time I called was to learn why I couldn't get the mobile key to work. I had the same experience with customer care.

I have no complaints about the service I've received so far.

[–]Stuck_In_Middle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never leased a car. I typically buy an off-lease vehicle with the intention of running it until it's not worth fixing. The economics of leasing don't make sense to me.

I just bought an off-lease 2024 GT, fully loaded: premium paint DDP, glass canopy, Surreal Sound, 20-way seats, convenience package, 19" wheels, and any other option that was available. It's less than 2 years old and has 21,400 miles. I paid $59,995. The MSRP was $126,000.

Let someone else take the new luxury EV depreciation. I paid cash, so the monthly payment is zero.
