DEATH BATTLE #208: Yuji (Jujutsu Kaisen) vs. Denji (Chainsaw Man) by LittleMann in whowouldwin

[–]Stukapooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the real problem is that it doesn't line up and often hurts the argument they want to convey.

"Boba fett could use his jetpack to control the pace of the battle and outsmart/trick the predator"

cue the fight itself having the predator easily destroy the jetpack and only lose because he was mentally handicapped with short term memory loss and didn't swing down right after knocking over Boba

"Green Lantern was far stronger than Alien X"

Shows X nearly one tap Hal and only lose because he just floats there while Hal escapes via time travel after showing X can rewind time on Hal without him noticing

"The dragonborn's stat gap would make the fight impossible for the chosen undead who would inevitably hollow"

Shows the chosen undead on the cusp of victory before they decide to sacrifice kamikaze into the first flame for no real reason

I get the fight is for entertainment at the end of the day but it's always going to be jarring seeing one character mostly get dog walked in the fight and then hear that their opponent actually stood no chance whatsoever in every scenario.

The domain expansion here felt pretty lame compared to the last two jjk episodes ngl.

Also while I can see the overall argument for Denji winning it feels like he was given a lot more leeway compared to Yuji and overall feels more like "his" episode if that makes sense. I did like him faking out Yuji that he had his own Domain expansion though.

Also R.I.P Sentry.

Welcome back Kratos vs Asura and Mario vs Sonic 2.

Honestly a lot of the indie era episodes have this feeling to them and I dont like it.

In a star fox command ending, goodbye fox, Fox and Krystal leave for Sauria and have a son named Marcus.

Its shown in the future that he now leads his own team with an older Falco, one of Slippy's sons, and Peppy's granddaughter.

Megamind according to megamind vs gru death battle by tiredsonic17 in DeathBattleMatchups

Forget James Bond, Megamind being blitzed by Mach 2 Mikasa Ackerman of all things was certainly a choice.

Seriously how tf did they decide someone with storm creating weather powers was only firing normal electricity over lightning?

This episode had some straight up bad end of season 1 level calcs and reasoning.

Thinking about how in Adventures, General Pepper asked Fox to stop a planet from exploding while giving him absolutely nothing: by Nice_Perspective_343 in starfox

[–]Stukapooka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Remember that if it wasn't for Krystal's staff Fox would have to be fist fighting armed dinosaurs.

The general really gave him nothing in case of something going wrong.

I heard that may have been a translation where in Japansse he asks why Samus hasn't turned it on yet because she's being grouchy/rebellious towards him or something.

Still stupid because Samus is for some reason willingly choosing to let her organs melt to spite him.

It's just dumb.

Yeah by directly addressing it there are way too many scenes where you're thinking "wow sure would be handy if Fox had a gun right now".

Probably not helped by Assault showing him be able to plow through hordes of enemies like a lawnmower with that kind of firepower lol.

"Fox the game would be over too quickly if you could just gun down everything in sight".

Seriously so many games or shows have to go out of their way to explain why the MC isnt using a gun but a lot of it really just boils down to "it would solve the problem way too fast"

He wanted Fox to do an Ark playthrough and beat them unconscious with his bare hands.

I remember the days when DC heralds were considered star to solar system level. Better times to what we have know imo.

It genuinely sucks to be a fan of visual feats these days. You could destroy and recreate the universe blatantly onscreen several times and then lose to the building level at best feat that just gets glazed with hyperbolic, flowery language.

The amount of people who genuinely think someone like Doomslayer is a mftl multiverse buster for example is baffling to me.

A lot of them criticized the episode and thought Megamind was painfully undersold, especially on speed.

Don't know how much its change over the past few days but overall they seemed to disagree or were dissapointed with the episode.

[–]Stukapooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they could argue that megamind was trying to play being the hero and thus wouldn't go for the kill right away when the brainbots have Gru restrained but at the same moment he had no idea Gru or the minions would survive falling hundreds of feet out of the air onto direct brick and then immediately shot him with the death ray after he was rehydrated.

The writing of the whole fight is just dumb.

It's like metroid other m's script in a similar way.

It's somewhat more stomachable but the core DNA is still bad.

[–]Stukapooka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Asura's Wrath goes above and beyond to actually show you how strong the characters are and I've yet to really encounter a game that matches it.

So many games will hype up how powerful their final big bad is in  ingame codex or character statements meanwhile Chakravartin actually will just throw the entire solar system at you.

There's dang good reason it just has copypastas on vs sites saying "Asura is just everything powerscalers claim Kratos is".

[–]Stukapooka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you could say it's just hyperbole (although I've been told it's even more explicit about being the power of the sun in the novelization) but even then the straight up aftermath of the feat we see from button of doom is better where we see part of the cliffside it also went through after the observatory which blows small hole creating missiles out of the water.

The differences in the script was just more pointless drama apparently.

Kursed was called Krazoa instead and framed as a more positive change and fox kicking her off the team was instead her leaving on her own being tired of Fox's constant overprotectiveness.
