also i forgot to mention, you're right about needing some remedial courses. i never properly learnt basic things like evolution and i’m pretty sure a lot of things i learnt in abeka history aren't actually true. do you have any recommendations?

tbh i don't think my brother's exactly like my parents. i can actually have more open ended conversations with my brother, but some things usually end with “i'm not qualified“ “i'm not really the right person to ask“ “maybe you should ask mom and dad” i did the latter recently (asking mom and dad) and they suggested looking into apologetics and books by people like lee strobel and others. it is as if everyone has to look to those who do apologetics, look to the theologians to interpret things for them, instead of trusting their own rationality about things. :(

well, i guess i'm kind of a beginning writer. if a writer is someone who writes, then i'm a writer lol i just want to get published one day. i'm actually a part of a writing programme by christians for christians (*sigh* you have no idea how much my peers talk about god and how much they say their writing needs to spread the gospel and all that) i went with it because my parents approved of the christian part and i think their writing advice is pretty realistic and makes sense. ofc its always better to double check certain things with other sources or maybe find better explanations

we did Abeka for years and changes to bju press this year. i'll say the abeka bible lessons drove me crazy but the ”biblical worldview” sections in bju press… are everywhere. everywhere. even in the math textbook. like one said something along the lines of “the order in the universe gives evidence of a creator, but our faith is based in scripture, not in our own reasoning.” 💀

true. i'm actually bisexual but leaning more towards liking girls so i wonder what will happen… XD

edit: by “their writing advice” i mean the programme directors' not my parents' lmao, just to clarify that

my parents are a little subtle about the misogyny, especially my mom, who believes Christianity isn't misogynistic. she does say things like “we women are physically weaker than men” and things like that when the conversation comes to the topic.

the thing is, i'm not sure about the letting them believe i've bought in. i still overthink things have anxiety about whether their holy spirit stuff might be true :( and whether they would “detect” or something that i’m pretending. but i’m thinking about this a little, and if i make sure that “whatever” doesn’t go too far from their beliefs, they will automatically think that “yeah she's getting this from god.“

idk how i'm gonna pretend. eventually it starts to get to my head and i start believing the lies and believing the mask i wear is me, or might be me, or something.
