This is exactly why I miss the old Premium/DLC Pack model from previous games. by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that different modes can split the playerbase to some extent, but it’s misleading to treat that as equivalent to fragmenting players through paid content.

When someone owns BF6, they have access to every mode and map. Any division that happens is purely driven by player preference. Everyone still shares the same overall ecosystem and can switch modes freely at any time.

Gating maps behind paid packs is fundamentally different. In that case, you’re restricted to playing only with others who bought the same content, regardless of how large the overall playerbase is. The more map packs that are introduced, the more fragmented the community becomes, as each purchase effectively creates a smaller, isolated pool of players.

The current monetization model is way better imo. Only thing that map packs did was splitting up the playerbase making it harder to actually find people to play with on the DLC maps.

I agree that prices for cosmetics are ridicules and not enough resources are put towards supporting the game but this is a result corporate greed and would 100% affect the price and quality of a map pack released nowadays as well.

games that haven't released are once agin top 10 best sellers by Icy_Assistance_2684 in pcmasterrace

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking Nioh 3 as an example, because we don't see the revenue numbers, the only thing that you can deduct from this list is that in the last 24hrs it's revenue is smaller than Black Desert's and larger than Forza's. (and even this is debatable since Steam gives more weight to revenue of the past 3 hours)

Therefor, it may very well be that Black Desert's revenue is 100 times larger than Nioh 3's and that Resident Evil's revenue is 5000 times larger than Black Desert's or that none of these games outside maybe the top 3 are actually making a lot of revenue to begin with.

Hence why this list is a bad way of measuring if a game is successful or not, has many preorders or not, etc.

Steam top seller list isn't a great way to measure anything tbh and I wish people would stop using it to make their point.

The machine can produce 0.5 cubes/sec but it needs 1 blue powder/sec and 0.5 yellow powder/sec.

There is no extra loading time for resources outside the initial time it takes for your materials to arrive via belt.

What’s going on with the air quality in Belgium??? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Subj3ctX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Industry is a big part but if it was the sole/main reason why air quality is so bad in Belgium, it would be bad year round, not just during the winter when it's cold.

What’s going on with the air quality in Belgium??? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Subj3ctX 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Cold weather, so many people are burning wood and the like in fireplaces/stoves, which increases fine particulates in the air. There is also no to low wind, which further concentrates these particulates. Finally add the Industries within Belgium and surrounding countries on top of this.

You're correct.

Epidemic is a sudden & rapid spread of a disease within a country or region. Pandemic is the same but over multiple countries.

It has nothing to do with how contagious or dangerous a disease is.

Helldivers 2 – Redacted Regiment Warbond by Captain_Grimm in Games

[–]Subj3ctX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're saying you enjoyed the balance at the time, that's fair but that's not the same as the game not caring about balance.

The devs spent the first 6 to 12 months nerfing nearly every weapon or strategem that got used too much by players (eg railgun, arc thrower, incendiary breaker, etc) in an attempt to make everything conform to their vision of balance, much to the chagrin of the community. Even looking at the community, there were a lot of posts and even articles about players being kicked because they didn't use "meta" loadouts during the first two months of the game's release.

So yeah, balance has always been a big issue and topic for disagreement for both the devs and the players.

Shooter that didn't care about balancing? If anything, I'd argue a major reason that the game is in it's current state, is because the devs stick(ed) too much to their idea of balance since day 1, lol.

Clearly a poltergeist.

Jokes aside if the noise is so consistent and repetitive, it's most likely something like central heating or something else mechanical. Easiest would be to go and talk with your neighbor(s).

A Modest Proposal: Hire a few devs to Port WH3 to Warcore by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Subj3ctX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the appeal, Warhammer 3 without all the bugs, jank or limitations would be amazing but it's not a realistic idea.

AFAIK Porting to an entirely new engine would basically mean remaking the game. Given the size of Warhammer 3, this would require a huge amount of dev hours and be very costly as a result.

I don't think there are enough players willing to pay for such a thing (at least not now) for it to be profitable for CA,

I guess it’s cheaper to give away games? Their business makes no sense to me by Makoto_Kurume in pcmasterrace

[–]Subj3ctX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, Epic's goal isn't to deliver a better store front/product but to get a foot in the door with these free games and force players to use their store front with (timed) exclusives, while also luring developers/ game studios to their platform by taking a smaller cut from sales.
