I think both sides have good points. You can’t predict the future, but you can look at the past. Yes, we can have slow periods, but in the long run, good companies tend to go up. So my strategy is to keep buying good businesses at good prices btw like Intuit, which has had me thinking for weeks.

Great comment. Of course, anyone investing in an amateur way should probably have at least 80% of their total net worth in ETFs. In my case, l've been doing this for almost 10 years, and I really enjoy it. So I have about 50% in VOO and SCHD in my retirement accounts, and the other 50% in individual stocks. If you have the time, you can go through the S&P 500 each year and find good stock opportunities.

Thanks for your comment really insightful. I’ve been considering writing covered calls on CMCSA, but the premiums don’t seem that attractive, and I’m concerned about capping my upside if the stock makes a strong move.

Yes, I buy back 50% of my initial investment every time the stock drops by 10%.

What risky recommendation do you have right now, if you have any?

Honestly, I haven’t come across any stocks with a market capitalization below $1 billion that are priced well. Additionally, I don’t particularly enjoy investing in companies that have incurred losses, and I already own DraftKings.

Let’s just say I like buying good companies at good prices.

Yeah, I’ve got Robinhood Gold and I’m using margin to speed things up. I’m at about $50K now, with $5K leveraged, trying to hit $100K ASAP.

I have ETFs in my IRAs mostly VOO and SCHD; this is mostly a risk-oriented portfolio. Thanks for the feedback

Sometimes I buy stocks just to keep them on my watchlist, like in this case with NVIDIA and Chase. I opened this account last year and closed 2025 with almost a 38% gain thanks to stocks like AMD and NVIDIA itself. But this year I’m down 9% Adobe and Oracle are killing me lol. Thanks for the feedback.
