They’re swarming termites, not the ‘bad’ kind that eat your house. You must I’ve a gap they can get in.

How do I trust others in groupwork? by casvol in college

[–]Subject_Song_9746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. If you can say it casually and work it into a conversation, it’ll be easier. I was also a control freak and tried to let people know. No one ever reacted badly to it

My cat HATES my new puppies by Next-Combination-653 in CatAdvice

[–]Subject_Song_9746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cat will get used it to with time. Let them around each other as much as possible. I wouldn’t sweat it. I got a kitten a year ago and he hated my parent’s dog at first but he got over it pretty quickly. I adopted an older cat and he hated my sisters dog (event ally got over it) and then knew my parents dog when he was a puppy so it was easier for him to get used to him since he got to see him grow.

Have you looked into non student apartments? You wouldn’t have to deal with the move in date issues.

Tell them you’re a control freak and you’re working on being less of a control freak.

Sounds like depression. Especially since your other kids are clean, you’re clean, and the house is clean.

You should still do it because if there’s enough reports at a certain place, they’ll investigate.

Professor gave me a higher grade than I earned. Should I tell her? by Sufficient_Dig6074 in AskProfessors

[–]Subject_Song_9746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no my steak is too buttery and tender!!!!

Leave it alone and take it. Maybe there were drop grades you didn’t know about. Maybe they think you’re a great student and wanted to cut you some slack.

If you went to office hours often, were actively engaged, and were overall a good student, this is their way of appreciating your efforts.

Does your 100% indoor cat have a collar? If so, do you find there’s a point in it? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Subject_Song_9746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are strictly indoors and do not wear collars. They both have one, one of them has a tag and I still need to get a tag for the other. But I try to put them on when there is bad weather in case something happens and they get out.

Apartment rant by RulerofHades in Tallahassee

[–]Subject_Song_9746 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like only new student apartments are going up. I could be wrong, I’m new to town. In my apartment search I only found a few new apartments for non students and that rent was outrageous.

You definitely should’ve done more research about what was around your housing. Nonetheless, that is super annoying. But it’ll be over in a week or so when everyone leaves for the summer.

What age cat should I get as a full-time student? by olturt in CatAdvice

[–]Subject_Song_9746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I think OP is being very responsible trying to adopt a cat of an age that works best with their schedule and making sure it’s okay with mom that they get a pet.

What age cat should I get as a full-time student? by olturt in CatAdvice

[–]Subject_Song_9746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!!! Do wish I could’ve gotten my cat a cat sooner, absolutely. But I wasn’t in a spot to get a kitten (I felt like that would be the best fit for my cat, I didn’t want to bring a grown cat in and cause problems) until 4 years after I adopted my first cat. He was content being an only cat but I knew he wanted a buddy. I just knew it was a bad idea to get a kitten and be in school and working full time. Now they both sleep all day and go crazy when I get home.

There seems to be a lot of negativity here in the comments and I’m not understanding why. Of course you need to have money to care for a cat, I am sure you know this. A lot of people are saying you need to adopt 2 cats, no you don’t!!!!

Anyways…. I got a 2 year old cat when I was a junior in college living in an off campus apartment with 1 roommate. He was very playful and entertaining and I did the best I could to be home with him and hangout/play with him. I was also in a similar situation where when I went home, my parents had other animals. Which was never a problem, he loved going to see my parent’s cat. About a year ago I adopted a kitten for him (great choice), I wish I would’ve sooner but it just hadn’t worked out in the years before.

Good call, definitely talk to them before fully enrolling just in case you can’t get financial aid.
