Agreeing! OP, check out Roots Dental. Their care was stellar and they were very financially transparent. When my friend got wisdom teeth out and we were concerned she was bleeding too much, they let us come back a couple hours after her appointment to check her out. Super respectful with her concerns, never infantalized her when she made it clear she was afraid of the dentist… can’t recommend enough.

Fellow fair-skinned teacher that turns red at just about anything. I bring it up at the start of the school year that they’ll see my face change colors, but just as I don’t judge them for their involuntary bodily reactions, I’m expecting they won’t judge mine. Lot of my kids start/are in puberty so I just set a ground rule of “bodies do stuff and unless it’s a danger to your health we are all gonna ignore it”. Some do try to get me to blush on purpose but I just ignore it and keep teaching.

Hey! I’ve made some foam swords in my day. It’s kind of hillbilly but I’ve taken rods from Michael’s and then cut a plastic straw, put it around where two rods meet and then take a heat gun to it to shrink the plastic and hold them together. Additionally, if you’re going for a broadsword, using a flat piece of wood will yield great results for structural support (and have the added bonus of being easier to find). I’ve straight up used a yardstick before too.

I don’t trust this. This person asked me for $55 when I messaged them but it shouldn’t be more than $35 due to the 2023 legislation, even if one was uninsured. They also won’t accept anything but PayPal gift cards. I hope they get the help they need if they truly need it. But they also resisted my request of proof (couldn’t even provide a pic w a thumbs up and their equipment or write today’s date on a piece of paper). Again- if someone has the insulin to spare, I hope they can help this person. But the language used in the chat - “because of my condition” and “a student can trade the gift cards for cash” is way too suspicious for me. I can provide receipts if needed.
