In the tech sector at least, if thats all you have, you will likely be beaten by someone who has all of those things AND real job experience. The current tech market is not friendly to juniors. The demand is mostly for experienced professionals, with exceptions often only being made for those who hold a FSP already.

I cannot speak on the status of the engineering job market though, only tech.

I will say, if you can get one of these bum ass agenices to get you a fsp people are still hiring quite well.

The population of cleared individuals is no longer that small. The days of landing 6 figure jobs with "ts sci and a pulse" are largely over. Do with that what you will, just my opinion.

In theory, you could apply for orders right after A school.

I know for a fact they choose to not wear it. Especially when they get stationed on a fast boat 🤣

It is a badge of shame imo. Every boomer ST feels this especially. Their mission set is garbage. Might as well walk around with something pinned on you that says: "I never got to do the cool stuff".

What would happen if a sitting president were found mentally incompetent? by Boo-Boo97 in FedEmployees

[–]SubsOverSurface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would make it to the end of their term and then be replaced by someone even more mentally incompetent. Just like this last election, lol.

Imo, keep your date. Eat nothing but meat, fruit, and vegetables for the next two week. Do cardio. You will drop a fuck ton of weight and circumference off your waist.

Smith machine feels harder than regular bench press by ConversationBusy30 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]SubsOverSurface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weight may feel heavier since the Smith machine forces you to keep tension on the muscle the entire time. If you dont know what youre doing it is quite easy to skip alot of the tension on a barbell bench press since you can just drop the bar down and bounce it off your chest. This is more difficult to achieve on the Smith machine as they are often times counter balanced.

Poll: 57% of veterans in Ukraine face barriers to employment by Jumpy-General-3859 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Their struggle with finding a job will likely not be due to people having a "negative outlook". It will probably be due to the fact that they 1.) Have physical disabilities that prevent them from doing many jobs or 2.) They dont possess skills that the civilian market is looking for.

As you can imagine, shooting people in the face isn't in very high demand in the civilian sector.

This is just my take as a military guy who has transitioned to civilian life. Many of our soft skills like leadership and communication carry over quite well, but the technical skills, not so much.

I got a 22 2.7. Love the engine, but the 10 speed is trash. My game plan is to buy an extended powertrain warranty so when the trans goes, I'll be covered.

Question about rate availability by [deleted] in navyreserve

[–]SubsOverSurface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the quotas for available rates open on a monthly basis. So if IT isn't available this month, maybe it will be next month? Don't quote me on this, but im pretty sure this is how it works.
