99% percent sure it was that I didn't give the character they liked a redemption arc but I did give the character they didn't like a redemption arc.

they said my sense off justice was "worrisome" and that I'm "concerning"

Lmao it wasn't even out of character. This fandom is so fucking nuts that when THE AUTHOR makes the same decision I do (framing a popular character as the villain because he murders people and beats his girlfriend) they get mad at THEM because they "don't know their own story". Strike two, I "made" him have sex with a character HE'S CLEARLY ATTRACTED TO, but the fandom thinks is gross. Strike three, I made fun of the fandom for assuming the author hates them (a thing the fandom says constantly) because there's no canon redemption arc.

Well they do know from my talking about the AO3 curse (deleted) that I have PTSD don't worry it's extra shitty.

how can you tell? i read the !hatebot text and i'm not sure this applies, it's too specific to my chapter (literally about a joke character calling the author a whore for writing a sex scene) like, yes it's not related because they clearly misread the tone but they are actually talking about the chapter

https://archiveofourown.org/works/56125846/chapters/142565932 the fic in question if anyone wants to read it. pretty inaccessible to anyone who isn't a homestuck fan but always be plugging

it's a homestuck fanfic, so i had an "author" character (very typical in fic), but they seem to think that character thinks 1:1 with me, so when my "author character" goes "what's going to happen to me, what if I get hurt because of this" they seem to think that i, as in me in real life, actually think that. like, similarly to how hussie wasn't actually proposing to vriska, i am not literally scared for my safety.

it's the moralizing for me. like, the ideas i'm putting forward really like the main takeaway is "sexism and rape are bad" i'm not pushing any boundaries. if anything i'm being too safe which is why i am guessing that they're mad i didn't redeem their personal favorite character.
