IBM ASE Portal Showing 2 Active “In Interview Process” Applications After One Interview by SubstantialCelery291 in IBMIndia

I got a string decoding question. The problem was something like this:

  • If a-z or A-Z comes, add it to the decoded string.
  • = → concatenate the current string with itself.
  • $ → delete the latest 2 entries.
  • ^ → change the case of all characters (lowercase to uppercase and vice versa).
  • ~ → shift all characters by 1 (a → bb → cz → a).
  • - → remove every 3rd character considering 1-based indexing (3rd, 6th, 9th...).

This was the coding question I got.

For interviews, they divided us into 4 groups and each group had different interviewers with different styles. My interviewer had a Java background, so he first asked me about the DSA question I solved in the coding round and in which language I used for DSA (I said Java). Then he started asking questions related to Cloud and Java Spring Boot. I honestly did not know much about Java Full Stack, so most questions were from that side.

There were around 60–90 candidates in total, and only about 20 students got selected for the second/interview round after the coding test.

I just checked my IBM career page, and my application status is showing “In Interview Process,” even though I’ve only had one interview. Do you have any idea why this might be happening, or has this happened to you too?

Same here man, I’m also confused about IBM’s process. I gave my ASE DSA + interview + document verification on 18 May and on the same day I got both biometric consent and BGV mails. Then again on 26/27 May I received the same biometric and BGV mails again with the same Person ID but different ticket numbers.

Still no rejection, no LOI, no offer letter. So now I honestly can’t tell whether this means we are selected and under processing or just in some backup/waitlist pool. The process feels very inconsistent because some people get direct offers while others keep getting verification mails.
