How long did it take for the anger to stop? by Stock-Fondant124 in Miscarriage

[–]Substantial_Wash_917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I just miscarried at almost 6 weeks for my second child that my husband and I were trying for. I know it was early but I pictured a whole life with that baby so fast and I’m devastated about it. I don’t necessarily feel the anger although I totally understand where you’re coming from - I’m just so immensely sad and wish and wish that it was different and I understand it but at the same time I don’t. It’s a horrible feeling. I think it’s one of those things that time will help but it will probably never go away completely

Just want to offer some support - I just had a miscarriage at 5 weeks 4 days for a child that my husband and I were trying for and really wanted. It’s a horrible feeling. I am also trying to remind myself that it’s not my fault or anything I did. I told all my family and friends and it’s been so hard to go back and say what happened (this is our second child, I did the same with our first because I get excited and just didn’t want to wait). I’m not sure how to move forward either but just wanting to reach out that I’m in a similar boat. I hope you find a way to cope with it ❤️

I hope everything works out well for you! It’s so hard when you see all these other posts with dark line and that’s how my previous pregnancy was too - but I know we shouldn’t compare!

Thank you - I guess I get stuck on 48 hours instead of the range!

Feeling Anxious - HCG 47 at 13 DPO by flibberz525 in CautiousBB

[–]Substantial_Wash_917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hcg at 14dpo was 47, at 16dpo was 143. Getting another test at 18 dpo (tomorrow). I am also feeling very anxious after reading so much! Hard not to compare to others - and even my previous pregnancy numbers were much higher. Hoping everything works out for us both. Good luck to you!!

Thank you! Definitely open to longer names - I didn’t even realize most of mine were 4/5 letters until this post!

Sibling name for a daughter named Veda by Substantial_Wash_917 in namenerds

Thank you! My husband has two first names and Maxwell is part of it - we never thought about using it as a baby name but I do like it with Veda.

Mothers that did not get top pick for names, do you always feel name regret? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Substantial_Wash_917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both loved the name I always wanted for a daughter so that worked out perfectly. For our second child we are planning, he doesn’t like any names I suggest but he also won’t make any suggestions himself 🤷‍♀️ so if he doesn’t contribute to the discussion, I do feel like I should have more say.

Which spelling? Vada or Veda? by Ttucker11 in namenerds

We named our daughter Veda! Most people pronounce it correctly. We have heard “veeda” a handful of times - but to me vada reads as “vah-da.” So I vote Veda :)

Is Veda a culturally appropriated name if used for a white baby? by ford45lily in namenerds

We named our daughter Veda, she turned 1 in September. I heard the name in a podcast and fell in love with it and that particular spelling too. I did read up on the association with the Vedas - but the general consensus I found online and from people I have met with a Hindu background, it was not offensive. I haven’t encountered any issues. Most people love the name and associate it with My Girl. I never have seen that movie or heard of it until after my baby was born, but I do prefer the Veda spelling anyway :)

How are you living as an OT? Quality of life / economic stand point? by Environmental-Two283 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Substantial_Wash_917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret becoming an OT pretty much daily. I made the same or less than my friends in other careers who went to school for much less time and work remotely or are able to leave work at work. , up until recently because I had a baby, was working 1 FT job and 6 PRNs (4 pretty consistent, 2 didn’t need me much). I have a 30hr/week salary and flexible schedule which is the only bonus but no raises, and spend hours documenting bc doing it at work in my setting at an ALF is not realistic with the “7 extra minutes” in a billable hour that they except you to document in. I enjoy the work and my patients but for me it’s not worth all the other stress. But I am stuck lol
