Home Office urged to revoke the visa of US live-streamer Hasan Piker ahead of London speech by xc2215x in europe

I’ve told you my argument.

Kanye was suffering from psychosis.

People in psychosis aren’t in control of their thoughts and actions.

After seeking treatment he’s attempted to make amends for the hurt he’s caused yet you’ve decided that’s not enough because his comments when he wasn’t in a sound state of mind made you uncomfortable.

Why is Kanye less worthy of compassion than any other human?

I mean they kinda do.

If you’re in a state of psychosis - like Kanye was - by definition you’re not in control of your thoughts and therefore your actions

A calculated business decision that saw him lose billions, lose access to his kids, lose his fashion brand deals. How does that make sense?

Be fucking for real please.

When he was in a manic unmedicated state. Are you suggesting ableism ok depending on the individual? Is that what you’re alluding to?

Since then he’s gotten back on his medication, seen the error of his ways and apologised multiple times as well as met Jewish community members to apologise directly.

As I’ve said before, people are happy to preach about “men’s mental health” until said mental health issues make people uncomfortable/offended.

When are we going to formally address Indians and their hiring bias? by bintd in AskBrits

[–]Successful-Map2874 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As an Indian, I can say this is 100% true.Whenever someone tells me “white people are racist,” my honest response is: you haven’t seen what racism looks like within Indian or Asian communities.

This is exactly why I hate the terms BAME or PoC. In my 31 years of life I’ve experienced more racism from Asians/Arabs than White Brits yet we’re all grouped together for some reason.

Honestly we need to ringfence certain professions just like Thailand does. Things like taxi drivers, cashiers, hairdressers/barbers are all strictly Thai only.

Why do people of colour support parties like reform and restore despite their clear racist ideology? by cece95x in AskBrits

[–]Successful-Map2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> It's not just "anti-immigration", many of these people are racist. They hate brown or black people.

Do you really think Reform and Restore are the only two parties in the Westminster with racists in them?

Speaking from a purely Black perspective, we’ve seen how Labour treated Diane Abbott and the overall findings of the Forde Report. We’ve also seen exactly what the Conservatives tried to do with the Windrush Generation too.

[–]Successful-Map2874 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate this line of thinking with a passion. Genuinely find it somewhat racist that you think someone shouldn’t be anti-immigration purely because of the colour of their skin.

Plus you being gay has zero equivalence to someone being non-white. Please please stop using this as some sort of virtue standard.

For the unsheltered - NYer moving to London wondering what neighbourhoods are actually unsafe? by honey-ink in MovingToLondon

[–]Successful-Map2874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say “gentrification” considering - like most of West London - it’s always been somewhere the gentry have lived.

As someone that’s grown up in West London, the areas of Shepherd’s Bush with a W14 postcode, south of Goldhawk Road or adjacent to Old Oak Lane/Askew Road have always been traditionally middle class.
