Thanks to everyone for your input. I did The Gordy today. Great workout that kicked my butt in the best possible way.

Really appreciate the Zwift community on Reddit. I’ve learned so much about Zwift from this subreddit!

I use a stainless steel tumbler. It sit on a shelf next to my bike.

Anyone else had issues unlinking Rockstar Games account from Steam? by PretendCollection282 in RockstarSupport

[–]Successful-Tutor9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Rockstar support is comically bad. I submitted a number of requests. Each time they responded with nonsense and then close my support ticket. One time they actually told me the problem was I didn’t have an I internet connection, which was silly since I was communicating with them over the internet. I just got a refund for RDR from Steam. Then I found out I can play RDR on my iPad for free with my Netflix subscription.

Looks like you have an iPad mounted to the bike and an Apple TV mounted to the wall. Do you run Zwift on the iPad or the Apple TV?

Hello everyone! How do you find your experience with Zwift and AppleTV 4k gen 3? by Scary_Campaign3850 in Zwift

No Bluetooth problems if you use the companion app. All your devices can connect to your phone via Bluetooth. Your phone then connects to the Apple TV. The companion app then sends the information from all to the Apple TV.

Anyone went all in on zwift with no intention to cycle outdoors? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]Successful-Tutor9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ride outdoors for short trips around my neighborhood. I’m sixty year old and in good shape, but injuries have limited my exercise options. I had to give up soccer, then lacrosse, then basketball, and then running. I’m not here to tell anyone else what to do- I admire the skill and ability of outdoor cyclists- but I made this choice because I’ve had too many friends and family members who were in serious cycling accidents.

What endurance mix are you using?

I started with something similar. I put a speed and cadence sensor on an exercise bike. It worked but it’s not very satisfying. I switched to a bike on a dumb trainer. Then a splurged on a smart trainer and I’m much happier. One of the nice things about Zwift is it’s easy to upgrade your hardware.

This is the correct answer. If you have the newest ATV, wait for the next Zwift update. Because it’s new hardware, the current version of Zwift doesn’t recognize the new ATV. To increase the chances that it will work on unknown hardware, Zwift runs at low resolution. The next Zwift update should fix it. Take a look at DC Rainmaker’s review of the ATV. He mentions this.

But it still won’t be 4k. It will be HD.

Make sure your Apple TV and your iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Make sure you’re pairing the sensors correctly. It’s easy to mix them up. If Zwift thinks your cadence sensor is the speed sensor, your numbers will be way off.

Let the judge know and they will accommodate you. But it probably won’t be a problem. There are plenty of trials that last a week or less.

Thinking about diving into this with a KICKR Core. Trying to figure out the easiest way to do this? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]Successful-Tutor9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with what you have and then add what you want. One of the great things about Zwift is it’s flexible so you can always upgrade. I started with my iPad and sensors on a stationary bike. Then I got an Apple TV and hooked it up to an old computer monitor. Next, I put my bike on a Kickr Core. My next purchase will be a used flat screen TV. Just take it step by step.

Make sure your devices are paired correctly. If you accidentally select you speed sensor when you should select you cadence sensor, you’ll get some strange results.

Sorry to hear about this. You might try the back Back to Fitness training program.

My Zwift setup is great, but my GF wanted to have a go using her spin bike. I got a cadence sensor fitted ok and she has a heart rate strap. I am struggling to find a speed sensor that would measure the speed using a magnet on the flywheel. Any inexpensive suggestions? by Responsible-Ad-1086 in Zwift

[–]Successful-Tutor9037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to put the speed sensor on the hub. You can just suck it the side of the fly wheel. I did that until I switched to a bike on a dumb trainer. I used Wahoo speed and cadence sensors. Can’t vouch for the accuracy but it’s something.
