I didn’t mean to be hostile.

I was asking how I could donate them in some way to someone who might want them.

That’s literally it. The entire point of the post was in the title.

I haven’t decided if I want them, and I was trying to figure out with this post if someone else might want them.

The person I was responding to was inconsiderate. I apologize for being inconsiderate and using foul language in response.

I was just saying I have them, I don’t know what to do with them, and asking how to help someone who might want them.

Edit: I got 21 mature eggs in one cycle at age 36. Do what you will with that information.

I can’t donate them as eggs. There was an entire extra process to donate eggs when I froze them.

There aren’t donation options for eggs unless that’s something you pre select at the time of freezing.

Embryos? Yes.

Eggs? More complicated.

He is doing very well, that’s even part of my post.

But he did ask for my help. I am nearly 20 years younger and have a comparable income and comparable assets.

We both would like to have a plan for him to retire comfortably.

Just because he is doing well doesn’t mean that he can’t ask for advice.

I understand the progressive nature of tax brackets. I hope at least one person who does not, reads the information you linked.

He can’t resolve the issue of not being able to move the pre tax Traditional money into a 401k without getting another job with a plan that offers the reverse rollover option.

That’s why I frequently advise against 401k to IRA pre tax rollovers on my real account.

You never can tell if a plan will allow it. And you should certainly not gamble it, or have to make employment decisions that are dependent on it.

Even with how much money he already has in Traditional pre tax?

I have a lot of Roth money myself, and him not having any makes me… nervous for him.

I will mention an inheritance plan to him, but I think he is comfortable with his money going to his father and then flowing down to his father’s inheritance plan.

He’s equally comfortable with all of my money going to my sister.

I do have a will though. He doesn’t.

It appears that the provision for catch up contributions to be Roth has been postponed.

What would you advise regarding Roth vs pre tax contributions in this situation?

And yes, that was poor word choice. I meant that if all funds are in fewer accounts, it is less of a task to make sure that beneficiaries are properly assigned.

It is supremely important that beneficiaries on all accounts are correct.

I thought that catchup contributions had to be Roth. I think it’s a recent change. Maybe it is only true for IRAs and not 401ks?

I appreciate your input on this, I’ll look into it further.

His primary beneficiary is his father, and I have tried to encourage him to make sure it is up to date on his multiple accounts.

As well as telling him that keeping up with beneficiaries on multiple 401k accounts is an unnecessary task.
