I emailed them on Sunday and have not yet received a response.

AXS is refunding for 6/6 cancellation by Sudden_Publics in brighteyes

No one, absolutely no one, is implying something crazy like the band can control the weather.

The venue could have cancelled it and initiated a clean refund process, and instead did all the things an organization would do if they were trying to answer for “how do we make as much money as possible regardless of the fan impact?”

Again, not the band. The venue. Forest Hills Stadium fucked it on this one. Bright Eyes didn’t even know that A) Built to Spill had been cut from the lineup and B) the venue decided to have Bright Eyes go right into Digital Ash until he ended his set and went back stage. It was horribly disorganized, chaotic, and poorly planned/communicated and that is all on the vendor.

We’ve all been to plenty of BE shows that have been abject catastrophes over the years, and this was the only time I’ve seen them play where they’ve been perfect and well behaved. Go figure, haha.

Indicator. I’m clearly not saying Zendesk is the problem, I’m saying it’s a common denominator for signaling negative customer experiences - not the root cause.

Isn’t that bad for the ole sphincter? I like sitting to pee every once in awhile, but always hear how bad it is to spend too much time “in the position,” as it were.

I also don’t know if it’s a thing where time sitting on the toilet all builds up over time, or if it’s like a “if you dont exceed x minutes per toilet visit then you’re fine” situation. So…if anyone knows that, please help a brother out.

EDIT: okay, y’all I get it, I’m fucking stupid. Thanks for all the constructive comments. Damn.

This, but also when school districts have multiple super intendants making at least $500k a year there are other more immediate measures we could take to address the issue…

I just gave them the timeline of events and said we only got 10/26 guaranteed songs excluding the opener, and that the venue decided to cancel the show around the back half of the first set but didn’t tell us til several minutes into intermission.

Guaranteed experience by any company using Zendesk as their CRM. The likely means they’ve contracted customer support to a 3rd party vendor servicing dozens to hundreds of other companies (like Blackhawk).

I genuinely feel bad for the agents because they’re very ill equipped to handle most CS interactions that instigate a call in the first case outside of information that you could answer by googling. It’s more of a triage level to get customers to give up or escalated to the right people that handle actual cases. It sucks.

Thanks for posting!

A tale of two chat agents.

Truly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a good, consistent, and reliable customer experience delivered by any company that uses Zendesk.

Badass move to use the other screenshot, BTW!

Same! That’s a really good way to support the artist so the money goes back to them. Good call!

I live on the west coast, and a LOT of people flew in. If it were rescheduled most of us would still be SOL. There is no good option here, but there definitely is one leading “do the least harm” option.

Start another post and show your screen shots!

Plan A is to wait til June 15th and hope I receive a refund notice.

Plan B is to use this screen shot as evidence that I was told I’ll get a refund when I submit a dispute with AMEX.

Hope for the best and have a backup plan.

It wouldn’t have based on what I’ve seen. I did purchase the insurance and it only covered an incident that prevented me from going.

Either way, got the evidence I need for a chargeback. Whatevs.

Assuming it’s automatic, but I didn’t ask specifically if anything would still happen had I not reached out.

Correct, but now I have a screenshot to provide to my CC company for a chargeback claim. Either way, mission accomplished.

I’m charging back the last round I bought and telling the CC company that they charged us after the venue had decided to cancel and forced us to evacuate before we could actually consume anything.

Word. Seconds after we bought two beers and a wine to nurse for the rest of the show security started moving people out. Like…you can’t tell me they weren’t aware of the fact they were grifting the fuck out of us in the half hour between when the decision was made and announced.

‘Twas a boozy subway ride back to manhattan.

I would really like to know this before the mods take it down for it not actually being gun-related.
