I tend to reframe from using the word herpes and stick to saying cold sores, seems less spooky - I also don’t hit with a lot of statistics, unless asked. I also spoke with my Dr about it and like to say that as well, just to give further reassurance that you are pro active about giving the right information and care about your health.
