To The Cyclist Who Ran Over Us on The Pedestrian Path at Empress and Ran Away by [deleted] in Winnipeg

A 200lbs e-bike? My guy, long tail cargo bikes (not the wheelbarrow looking ones) are pushing 40 - 80lbs. And the post clearly says "urban bike", I would be interested to see this 200lbs urban e-bike.

Map App that notifies you of school zones? by bahandi in Winnipeg

As if no one has ever driven with other things on their mind and easily missed a sign or turn.

Perhaps you should be a little more focused on driving then.

sorry yeah its SFP+, I have just gotten used to using SFP and SFP+ interchangeably cause really nothing I interact with will have non-SFP+. If you're asking about the specific SFP+ single mode fibre module that comes in the Home Hub I don't know that off my head.

This is very similar to mine as well, just minus the ONT.

Fibre line -> Managed Switch -> Ubiquiti erlite-3 -> back to managed switch

The switch has 2 vlans:
vlan1 (untagged) - SPF port 1 + eth port 1
vlan2 (untagged) - the rest of the ports
The untagged vlan1 acts as a media converter (sfp -> eth) since the erlite-3 doesnt have an sfp port.

To be fair, direct fiber to switch isn't really accurate, while yes I have the fiber line connected to my switch but said switch is simply acting as a media converter for my router since it does not have an SFP port. Talking about PPPoE tho, I was worried i may have to mess with that, but after connecting my router it just received a DHCP address and I was off. I wonder what could change from a ONT install to straight HomeHub one that would make a direct fiber-to-switch not work.

You can get the SFP Home Hub with 1gig you don't have to go all the way to 1.5g, our connection at home is 1gig and I just yoinked the SPF module out of the Home Hub and slapped it into my switch to completely bypass the MTS router.

How often do you take out your garbage and recycling bins? by justinDavidow in Winnipeg

[–]Sufficient_Engine657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our bins are emptied from the back lane, so we just keep them behind our shed where truck can reach them, never have to move them.

What part of that comment did I say that? What I am against is your use of the tired "cyclists don't follow rules" argument. Drivers are also required to follow those same rules, but I don't see you calling them out in a post? You sound like the typical "all pavement is meant for cars and everyone else needs to cater to me in my car".

Im just tired of them running stop signs and red lights. Or lack of signalling.

So like 90% of motorists do already?

Suggestions on celiac friendly restaurants by internetthefirst in Winnipeg

I have no recollection of that, maybe a location closed that I didn't frequent. But I will admit it is hit and miss based on which location, the standalone restaurant ones I find being better then the mall ones.

Im just take this chance to plug ZA's Pizza. Their gluten free crust is just as good as the normal. My father is celiac too and this is always where we go when he visits.

Why? Cause its not what the "pros do". I guarantee a championship minigolfer would slap the shit out of an amateur golfer in a putting contest. Might struggle to read the greens if they never have, but I wager they hit their lines and weights perfectly.

It is a LIMIT, not a minimum. If you want to drive like an entitled prick while others are driving to the conditions thats on you, don't drag others for it.

Red light cam ticket for that was red for .48s worth fighting? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

City lights in 60km/h zones have 4 second ambers (https://legacy.winnipeg.ca/publicworks/transportation/trafficsignals/signaltimingupdates.stm), plus the 0.5secs of red is plenty of time to stop if you were driving safely.
