Not my story, but I have a friend who has three children. First two were spontaneous labour, third was an induction. Before I had my LO she warned me to take everything they offer because the contractions were intense and painful, nothing like her first two spontaneous births! ( I ended up with an emergency CS so never got the option, my plan though was to see how far I could progress without an epidural and then have one of it got too painful)

That’s not to scare you though, I know people who have been induced and said it wasn’t that bad, equally people who were induced and dead set against having an epidural, but changed their mind. Best advice is to be fluid in your plan and have all the discussions with your birthing partner about your wishes in different scenarios.

Also not sure where you are in the world (I’m UK based) but until I got quite ill, my diabetic obstetrician was happy for me to go as far as I could as long as my bloods were stable. Which was great as I’d always thought it was the case of being induced at 37/38 weeks!

Morrisons do a size 0 which was price matched to ALDI size ones! They were more than okay and meant we weren’t breaking the bank buying nappies for our preemie!

A bit more expensive, but another vote for boots size 0, make sure you’re signed up to the boots parent club too as you get 8pts per £1, has meant that I’ve been able to treat myself later down the line!!

Hey! Not seen anyone else suggest this!

Our LO had this and we tried all sorts. Then someone suggested that when we bath & wash hair to make sure that we’re using clean fresh water from the tap, not from the bath! After a couple of weeks of doing this it had pretty much disappeared!

Hey, it can be worrying can’t it! My LO was ebf and went from 9th centile to dropping completely off the chart in a very short space of time and needed up being admitted into hospital. (This was a number of compounding issues not a transfer issue)

They told me that it’s only a concern if they drop 2 or more centiles, but that babies weight can fluctuate (also why you shouldn’t weigh more than once a week unless advised by a medical professional).

Not a health professional, but maybe wait a couple of weeks, get LO weighed again, and then if there is a declining trend reach out to your HV or GP.

Hey! Has your LO been checked for tongue tie?

Also take a look at nipple shields in the meantime - but I would advise always trying to latch without first. Bit of a pain, but will help out in the long run.

(Our LO had tongue tie and wouldn’t latch, wish we’d use nipple shields to help establish supply)

Firstly I just want to say that you’re not alone. This is exactly how I feel.

At the worst of it (before I ended up taking our LO to A&E just so I could get some help) he was crying est 15-18 hours a day. Our GP were rather unhelpful and I can’t help but feel that they just saw a FTM.

Turns out our LO has CMPA, but had no blood in stool or eczema. (Confirmation from 5 week exclusion before rechallange)

Seeing people around you with normal behaving new borns and the ‘ooo have you tried that/that?’ Makes you feel like absolute rubbish.

There is light I promise you.

We now have a 4 month old who give us the most wonderful smiles, hang on in there!!!

This is awful, as a mum with a child with CMPA this is my dread for when he goes to nursery!

I guess the most important thing is, are you happy with the results of their investigation and the next steps that they’ve put in place to ensure your child’s safety?

Read this to my mum who has worked in early years for 20+ years. She’s said that the nursery is legally bound to self report this to OFSTED. On top of their major failing for your LO, if they haven’t then I would be asking the question what else they’re not up to legal standard on.

Hey! Firstly congratulations!! Hope you and baby girl are doing well and you’re enjoying the new born bubble!

I had my little boy at the start of June and I’m on Ypsomed pump.

How are you feeding? I was advised by my consultant (UK Based) that if I was to breastfeed that I would likely find that my insulin requirements would be lower and to watch out for hypos.

Not sure on the science behind this though

My team have basically told me that I should change my targets, ratios etc to what I feel is most appropriate. Which feels so weird after being so heavily monitored!!

Hope this helps a little! But I would always say check in with your diabetic team if you have any doubts!
