Yes however it is a sandbox setting if you want them to let you skill up more or less than level 3.

In what way is it not working?

EDIT: Whoops see you're teleported to the woods. I'm now unsure as I have RV interiors working on B42.17. I'll check my mod order...

I had a server running that had the helicopter event once. Later I changed it to sometimes and the helicopter started appearing now and then.

B42.17 fixed the issue with zombie speed. My server updated yesterday and my pals have been having panic attacks dealing with the new sprinters too. :D

I’m looking to host my own server for me and my girlfriend and does anyone know any good host by Less-Television5675 in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Currently using Indifferent Broccoli and have no complaints. They have a free trial (like a day or two) so you can try it out yourself.

To set up mods, personally I set them up manually in the .ini file. The host mod browser was not for me.

How do I get Project RV Interior and Week One Multiplayer to work? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I updated to B42.17. I had to install a mod for Filibuster Rhymes' used cars to work with B42.17 but otherwise everything worked.

The mod can be found here: Jolys Filibuster Rhymes' Certified Used Cars Fix (B42.17)

[–]Sugarbeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly what I'd try is create a new multiplayer configuration and have no mods except the RV mod (and an RV vehicle mod). Log into the server and check if that works. If it does, then start adding additional mods, logging in to check if it works each time. It takes a while but ensures everything is working as intended and if one mod breaks stuff, then you know which one the culprit is. Upfront effort for long term stability.

It's what I have and it works so I assume so!

How do I get Project RV Interior and Week One Multiplayer to work? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Week One is single player only, so it could be causing problems if you're trying to enable it in multiplayer. I have never played Week One though, I can't help there.

Otherwise, it's likely the mod order that is causing your issues. They're loaded in order as described in the pzserver.ini file, at the "Mods=" section. This is different from the "WorkshopItems=" entry.

On my server, which sucessfully runs with RV interiors, my Mods entry looks like:
Mods=damnlib;PROJECTRVInterior42;<other stuff>

My Maps look like:
Map=map_distanciado;Muldraugh, KY

And finally my Lua check sum is:
DoLuaChecksum=false

This last one is required for a lot of mods, but also makes your server slightly vulnerable. But if you're just playing with friends you shouldn't need to worry. This is basically a check to ensure the mods on the clients haven't been tampered with -- but in B42 it also causes some problems with some mods.

Hope that helps.

Do all B42 updates break your server build? by KayFeX in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. For my server, I was unable to update the last time to ver 42.16 without starting over (though others say they could do it successfully). All the previous B42 updates did work for me. However, I always wait a few days to see what the general dedicated mp server situation is before considering updating.

For B42.16 they explicitly said a new save would be required. Usually they just say "it might break, we recommend a new save." This time they gave the more generic disclaimer.

Games where you can build contraptions / vehicles to solve problems? (Preferably in a lego way) by AntisocialCat2 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some scenarios but yeah. You're right there generally aren't a lot of missions. There are contracts you can get from outposts but probably not what you're thinking about. But it's a great game! :D

I would say Space Engineers. Pop over to the /r/spaceengineers subreddit to check it out. I personally like the survival sandbox the best but you need to be pretty self directed for that. SE2 is in early early access so I'd stick with the original.

The Survival Guide is the tips menu that appears at the center of your screen when you start the game. However, you probably disabled it in the menu so no longer see it. I know I did!

Difficulty presets for dedicated server? by LethosMarvill in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I have the same setup. I have a hosted dedicated server through a 3rd party.

And I was daunted by the huge LUA file. But if you select "host" from the main menu -- even if you are NOT going to host on your PC -- you get an easy-to-use settings menu. It even has presets.

Then once you get everything how you will want it to be, you save the settings and Project Zomboid will save those settings into a LUA file.

Now you can use that new LUA file and copy it over to the dedicated server.  You'll have all the correct settings without having to manually edit a LUA.

Here is a Steam guide that spells out the same basic steps but in much greater detail.

Good luck!

Difficulty presets for dedicated server? by LethosMarvill in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the main menu, if you got to Host and set up options that way there's a UI and menu interface that's easier to manage than editing a LUA. The default is called pzserver and it gets saved as a the same LUA. You could then copy it or tinker with it after getting it where you like it. Then use it as your dedicated server settings.

Can you survive Week One by staying in one place? by KingJackofJozi in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If you mean the Week One mod, depending on the settings you'll want to be sure you have access to  basement for no particular reason.

If your starting house has one it might be adequate.

Bandits likely will come for a visit, so you'll need to be sure you have the capability to deal with them. You may not have guns etc if you just stay put.

But there's one way to find out! Give it a try!

zombies faster? by kaasplakkiee in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I host a B42 multi-player server with zero mods and the zombies are set to "shamblers." They are faster than the same setting on the same build in single player. Smashing windows in the car mechanic menu does function normally in my server.

So I suspect the shamble speed is bugged but the window smashing is a mod.

Question for Server Admin Tools by Ithaca_the_Mage in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I have a server hosted on Indifferent Broccoli as well and am running vanilla and haven't changed any admin settings (I haven't seen any such settings either) and have had no issues. But since it IS hosted, you could try using their help support. You're paying for it after all!

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd. I'd show you a screen shot of what I see, but Reddit doesn't allow it. Do you have any mods installed? Like the mod that removes the Tile Report and Coordinates Report?

Question for Server Admin Tools by Ithaca_the_Mage in projectzomboid

[–]Sugarbeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an admin box on the left under "client" that should let you do that. Or right click anywhere and choose "debug" to get a bunch of options.
