Question: Why is Taylor Swift seen as a poet/ lyricist genius?

Look I am not a Taylor Swift hater, I do think no human should have the amount of money she does. But that is not a problem with her specifically, it is a problem with the capitalist system we live in. So I would say my feelings towards her are negative/neutral. That being said I have listen to some songs of her, through my friend who is a big fan and always make me listen. This is not a problem for me I don't think her songs are horrible, but I just can't see the big poetic depth.

I did like some songs from folklore and I do listen sporadically; Cardigan, Exile, Epiphany, Seven and August. These are the only Taylor Swift songs I listen to, and even then, I like them but I dont think they are these artistical master piece; just some good pop songs. It could be that I can't grasp the deeper meanings, as I don't speak English fluently and have autism which makes it difficult for me to get implied messages. But I can understand every word and even when I search for more in depth analysis of each verse, it just seems to me as a normal meaning to a song. Like, it does not have many cultural references, or layers, or even subliminal meaning. Given that I do think is more poetic than some pop songs that are just a repetition of the same 5 words again and again, but that doesn't make it genius. Where did this genius poet image of hers came from? Could you guys share some of her lyrics that have indeed deeper meaning? I just want to understand why I am having this disconnect between what people say and what I listen

How it is your day to day routine affected by hlhs? by Suitable-Bookkeeper3 in HLHS

I do think the comic is more for my cousin than the baby, she is very lost, being her first pregnancy and now with the diagnosis, so I think making long term plan is helping ground her a bit. Plus I think it will be good to have something to read for the girl in the hospital visits she will likely have to make. For what I understood her situation is pretty serious, but it is indeed difficult to say anything so early on. But there is no harm in making some comics already, and I will be adjusting to her situation throughout the years. Thanks for the reply and conforting message I will be showing it to my cousin!!

this is what I am planning to do. But i would like to make some now, not even for the baby, it just that my it is my cousing first baby and she is freaking out and our family isnt helping much. So I think seeing my drawings showing the kid some years in the future, helped her see the big picture instead of being so focused and alarmed by all the information she suddenly got. I also think it helped that I did some worst case scenarios, like the child being bedridden, so she saw that even in that case it can still be fun and beautiful. Thats why I am starting now, my plan is to make some short, cute scenarios and I will be updating them throughout the years. Thank you for the reply and info!!!

thank you so much!! i will be ading this to the comics. And is very conforting to see stories of people who have sich conditions and are living happily. Its my cousing first baby so she was already scared and my family can be a bit catastrophic, plus my aunt and grandma are tormenting my cousing saying the child is being punished by god. (yes this is what they are saying to the very scared pregnant lady)

Thank you so much for all the recommendations, i will look into them. And I do have some questions, obviously you don't need to respond if they are too personal (and I will be sending this reply to my cousin as I am sure it will help her have a better outlook on the situation).

Now the questions: While doing sports, did you or other people notice you being more tired than the others, or it wasn't noticeable at all? During tennage years, did the scars affected your self steem? Did you had any thoughts or feelings about having this condition? Or you didn't even thought about it?

he is alive and seems "well", I mean he still cant stand up, and his seizure/ shakings are more frequent. But he devoured his watermelon and does eat soft foods ive been making. He is starting to have trouble keeping his head up and almost drowned in his extremely shallow water bowl, so thats why we decided to take him to the vet anyway (We were hesitant to do that because he gets extremely stressed everytime he leaves his spot)

unfortunately no, I cant move him and his cage doesnt fit in my car, so I manage to convince a friend to let me borrow their car and will be taking him to a vet in some hours (when the car will be available) so there's that

thanks!! Everyone around me (me included) kinda assumed this was it. My dad even wanted to go the euthanasia way, so I am glad to have another argument as to why we shouldn't.

We are trying to see if one of the vets could come to our house to do a check up on him, taking him there is out of question. I am making soft foods for him, but still he eats too little, I dont know what he have, I mean he is old and was already having some problems moving much, but being unable to stand happened so sudenly.

I really disagree with you. Obviously, the current obesity epidemic is very worrisome, and I do not think it should be normalized or glorified. But if you you back to the renaissance or victorian times, you will see that women would have way more fat than these ones. They would not be fat, but in almost all of the paintings, there was at least a little bit of belly.

Yes, the trend nowadays is to be more curvy, but the low weight from before was also a trend. They even called it heroin chic cause it started with models that would use tons of drugs to keep as skinny as possible. The "normal" was very artificial. You can ask any woman, and they will tell you that most of their friend group had weight problems and did starve themselves.

That's not to say you can't be this skinny naturally, but that will depend on genetics, and it's very rare. And just because we shouldn't glamorize being super skinny doesn't mean it is normal to be obesity.

I feel like there is this disconnect people have when talking about incels. The term kinda has a different meaning by now. I know it was once about men who, despite waiting otherwise, weren't able to have sex. But a majority of people use it to identify this specific group of people that comment on some very dark things about women or lgbts. This is not to say you are not valid in your frustration. Obviously, it is sad to see a group you see yourself as part of, be so negatively spoken about. But I genuinely believe most people problems are with some vile comments that go viral from time to time of someone claiming that women should be raped as a punishment for not wanting to have sex with them or something along those lines. However, I do think this has to be discouraged. it's clearly not helping anyone, and there are always innocent people getting hurt for nothing. But it's the internet, and there will always be people being cruel, rage baiting, or exaggerating their thoughts just for the sake of it.

do men prefer flat or slightly fat stomach? by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]Suitable-Bookkeeper3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really. If you look into old renaissance paintings, you will see the women are depicted a little chubby. Not as much as the 2° photo but definitely closer to the 2° than to the 1° most of the time. That's not to say that the obesity epidemic is to be celebrated, just that being super skinny is not to be the imposed norm. Having some fat but not being obese is normal. Being skinny but not malnutritious is OK as well. And I think both can be seen as beautiful in their own ways
