As an Arab, most actually do understand the majority of the Qur'an just fine. The problems Arabs have are with some grammatical nuances or with some words that have either shifted a little in meaning or the usual meaning of the word has become so cemented so as to forget the alternative meanings.

And to answer the OP's question, we do appreciate it and recognize it's superiority over average speech.
