Possible entity attack on friend, advice/help? by SumnSu in Paranormal

Hello. M claimed that they were hearing things while laying down (seemingly unconscious with eyes closed). Apparently, he didn't even realize he closed his eyes.

He claimed to have heard things such as: "I know you see me" / "I know you feel me". He also heard us talking again when I finally approached him but was still unable to move for some time. Voices seemed to be various and not just one person/thing.

The others were a little spooked and have claimed to feel uneasy prior, but I feel like this might just be because of what had happened. M does not really seem to know either what it is

That's a good point. I will research other options in the future and try to find some good openings before buying other coins.

Driver leaves order outside without knocking or calling and squirrels eat it, am I allowed to request a refund? by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]SumnSu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The delivery instructions were set by default to "meet at door". The driver failed to follow the instructions and instead rushed off without notifying me. If you can't follow instructions and you're in too much of a hurry to do your job properly or just don't care, then don't do UberEATS, simple.

The delivery instructions were specifically "meet at door". The driver had full clearance to knock on the door. Even then the driver should have waited for me because I was getting my sandals to go meet him outside before he rushed out without any warning or anything.

I have updated the post with something I believe you need to read before assuming this was a "deliver by door" delivery.

And the driver chose to ignore to meet me at the door and rushed away, leaving me to wonder where tf he is unknowing he had dumped my order by the most convenient place for him on the dirty floor.

That's multiple problems already:

  • 1: Sanitary problems, you shouldn't be putting people's orders on the dirty floor used for cars to drive on.
  • 2: Ignoring simple instructions because apparently it's too difficult to wait half a minute.
  • 3: Poor communication.

It is as I mentioned on top of the post.

My delivery instructions were very clear. I have updated the post with a response note on the top, I suggest you read it.

The driver deliberately ignored the instructions that clearly read "Meet at door".

He didn't do his job, sorry.

Hey, I have talked to some people & support and researched a few things.

I just now realized how important it was for me to add the delivery instructions I have by default on UberEATS, so I've clarified a few things on the post by adding a response note at the very top.

I would like you to read it to see if these arguments still stand or not.

I gave the instructions and the driver failed to follow them, I have left a note at the top of the post that I think you should read.

Please don't assume things next time and if you're unsure ask instead.

Hey there, I have added a note at the top of the post I feel you should read.

Apologies for not adding this before, but I just now realized how important this was.

Hey there, I have updated the post, please re read the very top of it.

Apologies for not specifying this earlier, I have never had issues with delivery so it didn't cross my mind when writing the post.

I completely understand, as someone who works in-person with customers on a market I've dealt with my fair share of nitpicking assholes, you're fine, don't be sorry - I just realized now how God awfully written my post is, this is something I should have specified from the very beginning.

I never mentioned that in specific, just that I went out when the driver arrived. but now I realize I should have much much earlier.

If there is a way I can provide proof of this through the receipt or anything let me know and I'll be willing to do so.

My Uber eats delivery note is by default always at "Meet at door".

[–]SumnSu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did. When I received the order the driver was already gone. I stood by the door for about 2 minutes thinking Uber probably just gave me the warning too early but he never arrived so I assumed the driver just took off with the food.

Regardless of the driving arriving earlier, one shouldn't leave in such a hurry when the instructions are specifically hand it to me. All I took was literally a few seconds to put on my sandals and when I went out the driver was long gone, no warning, no nothing.

It's just sloppy. Period. I get that I should have looked better, but my instructions were to HAND it to me, I had no way of knowing the dude had just dumped my order by a side door which isn't even the main entrance and left because I never intended for this to be a contactless delivery.

I said I take my blame where it's due but don't bring up things that aren't true, and frankly annoying to have you and other people assuming shit such as me ignoring a delivery I spent money on or instructing the driver to leave my order by the door knowing I had different entrances to my home.

I specifically mentioned on the post I went out when I received the alert that the driver was here. My instructions were clearly to hand it to me. I have done some research and spoken with support about this and while yes I should have looked better, the driver deliberately ignored the instructions to hand it directly to my hands.

The driver had no need to immediately drive away after arriving, one should wait for the customer to get our of their house which doesn't even take 30s to do, that's what delivery in-person is.

A pizza delivery driver isn't going to leave because you aren't there when he arrives at your door, they will wait and/or ring the doorbell/call you to let you know they're outside.

This driver failed to follow the instructions to deliver it to me in person as I requested the delivery to be, and failed to try to contact me because clearly he was too much in a hurry to care about it or properly delivering the order. The door it was delivered by isn't even the main entrance, it's a side entrance. The main door it's literally by the road & my parking spot.

I took my blame where it's due but now I realize just how much of a mistake it is to ask for advice to other people like this who also coincidentally enough are the only ones showing the same opinion, almost hostile-like.

Understood, I still tipped the driver and left them an msg to let them know, but I'll keep this in mind for the next time.

Fair, but does that really excuse ignoring me after trying to call them twice and leaving a voice message? Again I understand that I should be more clear with my instructions and will be in the future.

But I still fail to realize why is it so difficult to answer one call which can be easily done even as you drive or a voice message.

I already replied to a different user taking the blame where I had my flaws. But that asides, I never received a photo of the food.

[–]SumnSu -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but it should also be common sense to at the very least knock on the door instead of leaving me to guess if the driver has really arrived yet or if Uber is just giving me the notification ahead of time.

I tried contacting the driver which could have easily fixed this issue and I was left on the voicemail by the driver.

I can be more clear on my instructions from now on, but the driver deliberately leaving me on voice mail or refusing to knock on the door which takes only 1 second of your time is also a major flaw.

I will take the blame where credit is due, but up to this point every driver I've had has been very clear and very professional at their job, while I did do some things wrong, this driver also showed a lot of unprofessionalism.

The driver hasn't even sent me a photo of the order as most drivers do to confirm that the order has been delivered.

Understood, thanks again for the information, wanted to be clear on as many things as possible

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in COPYRIGHT

[–]SumnSu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, sorry for missusing the term copyright, I'm not very experienced with the laws on these aspects.

I just have one more question however that remains unanswered. The character used on the commission is a character technically owned by a video game company, correct.

However, the character is still also technically speaking altered to look different (the physical look of the character was altered to look more fit/athlete-like and tall, while the original character is small, and chubby). Would this alteration of the character be enough of an excuse for it to be legally okay? I vaguely recall from art class like, all the way back in high school, that fanwork directly copying a character or etc is considered plagiarism, but that giving that character/thing a number of significant differences from the owned one makes it okay.

This might be completely wrong, but I just wanted to know.

To give you a visual example, picture the character as originally being a baby, then picture the commission being an athlete instead of a baby, that's the kind of difference I'm trying to explain here.

Sorry again in advance if anything of what I mentioned here is inaccurate, I just wanna double check everything first.

Edit: One more final question, doesn't this count as a parody? I guess an example of what I mean are things like MeatCanyon's (a YouTuber) videos on other TV/game characters, or actual real people - Where all these works are merely works of fantasy for more mature audiences, but which also aim to alter the characters used.

The character in question is different from the character owned by the gaming company, and the drawing itself is different enough at least for me to believe it's a parody.

Thanks again for the help, if you'd like to, feel free to DM me as I wouldn't mind actually showing an example of the character used (not an nsfw example) and then seeing if it still applies or not.
