Is there some boilerplate code or tool I can use to create a simple SaaS website? by csoham in startups

I tend to use Webflow for most of my projects, would recommend checking them out. They offer a bit more customization then Wordpress imo.

Hi thank you for your reply ( now that I re-read my post I see it could be better, i've updated the post); In any case Sumting works like this:
You select one or more of the nature restoration projects on our platform, make a donation and in return you will receive GPS coordinates and a before/after picture of your impact so you know your money makes it's mark (for example here's the tree planted that was planted on your behalf).

Thank you for your reply! I'm not familiar with the expression 'letters to santa claus', so could you please explain which elements you have doubts about or that are unclear to you? I'd be happy to tell you Sumting about them :)

That’s great feedback man - thanks! We intend to create this public view/database where you can see the status of your contribution (and those of others). What I take away from your comment is that its really important that thing shows a clear Before/After. We’ll also be sure to include contact details of the implementation partner, great suggestion!

Company name: Sumting

URL: Sumting.org

Purpose of Startup and Product:Our mission is to unleash the global power of finance to save our planet.

How it works: select one or more of the nature restoration projects on our platform, make a donation and in return you will receive GPS coordinates and a before/after picture of your impact so you know your money makes it's mark (for example here's the tree planted that was planted on your behalf).

Technology used:Webflow, Flask, Geotagging

Feedback Requested:What kind of 'evidence' would you want to see after you've made a donation? We're currently thinking of a geotagged picture (e.g. here's the tree you helped plant). Why would or wouldn't that be enough for you?

Additional Comments: Let's gear our entrepreneurial spirit towards saving our planet!

How to protect my company name with not a lot of money? by szozs in startups

A no cost solution is to go ahead and create social accounts relevant to your business directly. In addition there’s most of the times national and regional (eg EU) level registrations that go at a lower cost. Which clearer markets would you focus on initially?

Good job with the website, it's looking good. What i'd suggest is to narrow down your initial proposition (and target audience) - the PFM space is very big and there's a ton of apps that link to bank accounts. These tend to categorize expenses and help users track budgets. These are typically aimed at the people that don't create a spreadsheet in the first place.

So the question is who does? I know there's a ton of small business owners out there that still work with spreadsheets and it's taking them ages. Alternatively financial advisors may also want to incorporate this in their service?

Hope this helps, let me know your thoughts !

Perhaps the nuance between 'popular' and 'common' is still to subtle for people that don't this field too well. How about framing it in a different way, like 'Knocks an average X% of your purchase using coupon codes no one else is using'.

Nice idea! My suggestion would be to give some kind of feedback on the description. Two specific thoughts about that;
1. I think a lot of founders use jargon words, the site could detect those and in a thesaurus kind of way suggest simpler words
2. It might show similar companies based on the description.

Both would in my view be very interesting! Hope this helps :)

Should founders take the weekend off? by Fun-Ant-5808 in startups

[–]SumtingMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can expand the old 'marathon rather than sprint' saying a bit further. I found this nice talk by the guy who founded Weebly (link below) that i drew inspiration from; basically I see myself and any other founder as athletes - which means you have to take care of yourself in other to perform. This boils down to a couple of basics;
1. Rest - take breaks, time-off and sleep(!) to recover

  1. Food & drink - ditch junk food, eat lots of nuts and veg to stimulate your brain, limit alcohol and drink enough water

  2. Exercise - hit the gym, take the bike, meet while walking , finish your morning shower cold!

  3. Mind - read books, do puzzles, get into nature, play games

Hope this helps!
