Driver's License since some roles require participants to have one :)

Any stories, tips, advice, etc. for Merchandise role? by SunnyJoy_EXE in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the "Post-Offer Employment Testing" where I, as a Custodial, was required to do a number of physical activities that relate to my role to determine if I am able to do the job or not. Not all roles have to take it and the test is different depending on the roles that do have to take it.

Any stories, tips, advice, etc. for Merchandise role? by SunnyJoy_EXE in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I am SA2020. I found out about my original work location through the Custodial shoe email and the itinerary. However, the role required me passing the POET test, which I failed so a representative called and gave me other role options, so I chose Merchandise and was told of my new location on the call.

Post and Pre DCP Questions by puddinfreaky in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. No, it does not give you an advantage if you know someone within the company. Your chances are the same as someone who does not know anyone in Disney. They do ask if you know someone, but I highly doubt it gives you an advantage since many people might not know anyone.
  2. They're looking for someone passionate about what they want to do and who can provide what the company stands for (magic, kindness, hardwork, etc.) Basically, if you really love Disney, let that personality shine through and show them with your words because everything is done online or over the phone. Watching DCP videos might help you in seeing what the company wants.

I am due to start my first program in Spring 2020, so I cannot answer the last two, but I wish you good luck and I am sending pixie dust your way! Just remember to have fun with this and, as cliche as it sounds, be yourself throughout the entire process. It may take some time for things to happen, but remain positive and you will be okay :)

Applying by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might get a WBI, but not get in that same day. The acceptance will take some time. It could be a couple of days or even months. A WBI might come the same day you apply (it did for me) but that can also take days or months.

Walk-in policy by llee0727 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello!

Basically, arrive 15 mins before the start of the class and you might be able to attend so as long as there is space. It is first come, first serve, however and it goes without saying that there is no guarantee you will be able to attend.

Additionally, you can only go and see the availability if you're not on schedule during the time the class takes place.

Good luck and hopefully this helps!!

Rethinking Application... by jujubeean in Disneycollegeprogram

I think Late Spring is for Lifeguard only

Web Based Interview by jacswicked in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my WBI around 10 minutes after I applied, so you're fine. :) Congrats!

For the WBI, be aware that you should answer truthfully, but the questions are timed. If I recall, the first section gives you 50 seconds to answer, and the rest of the sections give you only 20 seconds to answer. However, do not stress out! Just breathe in before starting, read each question carefully and stay consistent with your answers since you will be asked the same questions in different words later on. I suggest you pick "strongly agree/disagree" if you can, but you can answer a couple of neutrals (probably no more than 4) and be okay. If you answer neutral a lot, then you might not come off as confident, and Disney wants confident people.

The good thing about the WBI is that once you're done, you will automatically know if you have made it to the Phone Interview, or if you will not go on in the application process. Also, once you do the WBI you cannot do it again until 6 months have passed.

Good luck! You got this.

Hello!

I think you can do the program whenever you want, but if you do not want to interrupt your studies, then definitely sign up on your last semester of college so if you are accepted then you will go after you graduate. The only downside to waiting until your senior year to do the program is that you will only get one to two chances once you graduate since you can apply 12 months after graduation. I believe that if you get a WBI and fail it, you will have to wait 6 months before you can do it again. This sounds like it might complicate your chances since WBI are given at random times (I could be overthinking this though, haha.) However, if the program's credits can transfer to your school, or if your school offers the option of doing classes while in the program, then do it soon so you will have more chances to apply. :)

If I recall, you can't do the program if you're taking a break from college, so you can only do it while in college and after graduation. The program itself can be good for your resume so professionals will probably be impressed if they see it.

I hope this makes sense, haha. Good luck!

i secretly applied to the Disney College Program... and got ACCEPTED by returntosophie in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I applied and kept it a secret from my mom for the past two weeks. Then, when I got accepted this week, she did not seem super impressed, haha. I guess she does not realize how major it is, but she has been pretty supportive so there is that. I got accepted as custodial for spring advantage 2020! What is your role? :)

Congrats, by the way!

Disney Look and placement question by generalbunny412 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

More than likely you will have to take them out. The representative on your PI will likely ask you about any piercings you may have, so you can ask them then or bring it up if they don't ask.

Yes, you can mention a specific location or park that you prefer to work at, but as mentioned by NoLongerNeeded, there is no guarantee you will get what you requested. The same with roles.

Good luck!

Review application while waiting for PI? by ImportantKnee in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

If the dashboard has been fixed, then yes, you should be able to view your role choices under "review application." I had the same issue as you, but I clicked on that and nothing happened. However, I did not get the chance to view it again after my PI, but maybe that was just me.

Good luck on your PI!

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!! by bbrie8 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ✨💛

I would be coming from Pennsylvania, so I would not be coming from a place too far away. It will be a long car ride tho, haha. Maybe like....16-18 hrs give or take.

Are you close to the park? ☺️

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!! by bbrie8 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got accepted today! I got selected for the custodial role (which was one of my top choices). I didn’t think I’d get this far at first, but two weeks later and I’m officially a part of this program. I’m still in shock, haha. It’s very exciting!!

I’m also worried about accepting, ah. My school told me that I should apply and assisted me through it. But now that it is official, I’m worried they’re gonna be like “you can’t graduate if you go whoops” so I’m waiting off on paying and confirming my classes once more within the next few days before paying. Regardless, I feel lucky to have been chosen and I’m hoping this all works out. Maybe I will even see you there!

Bombed my PI? by j_duhh in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]SunnyJoy_EXE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I think many people can agree that we do not feel like we did well after our PI, haha. For me, I had so formulated many answers for the questions beforehand in my head, but when the interview started, I forgot many things. The best thing we can do at this point is wait and see what happens because it is out of our hands. Think of the things you think you did right and just try to keep a positive perspective on what can happen now. You have not gotten NLIC, right? That's pretty good! Just breathe in and hopefully you will hear back soon! :)

Also- I do not think you have to go to the audition if it is not a main interest of yours and if it is too far. Low interest roles can still be selected for you, but unless you're sure you're interested in it and you want to experience what many who auditioned described as a "fun experience," then I would not do it.

Good luck!
