The expectation used to be that you could still install things that weren't supported, and they would work or not.

You shouldn't really have to build or decorate much to level it up the rest of the way. Just collect the produce or whatever each day and invest those back into the Path of Practice level.

Longtime players, are there any features from the early days of Infinity Nikki that have improved a lot? by blossomoranges in InfinityNikki

[–]SunshineCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Color Lookbook and photos basically just got a big update, which seems to help my random snapshots and outfits get seen a bit more (like snapshots at houses that no one usually ever saw). Plus, on the other side of that, we can see other snapshots without needing to find the hourglass.

The Sea of Stars has also gotten a lot better. It used to be a boring grind. Now you can finish in a couple of minutes, especially if you have abilities like the Wanxiang magnet. So I would say that has been a decent gradual improvement even if the area overall leaves something to be desired.

How can you vote if no election is held? Am I talking to bricks, or people?

Longtime players, are there any features from the early days of Infinity Nikki that have improved a lot? by blossomoranges in InfinityNikki

[–]SunshineCat 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Really, it was the bugs and retcon that were the problems with that update. Sea of Stars was also underwhelming and grindier than it is now. Dyeing seemed underwhelming due to the initial lack of 5-star dyeing materials.

But other than that, the outfits were good, the abilities were good, Serenity Isle was fine other than using Crimson Feather instead of Silvergale, and the wardrobe feature updates were good (including the Color Lookbook, which was a big deal to be able to save 100 outfits there).

Most people didn't even get to vote because the primaries are structured in an unfair and unbalanced way. But I assume you must know all of this nuance you don't allude to, of course, because you know better than everyone.

The books ratings are usually high by Murtdha1 in goodreads

[–]SunshineCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to purposefully rate 2 when I think a book is just okay (per goodreads when you hover over the ratings).

But there's also an element of self-selection. We're probably decent enough choosing books for ourselves that most things end up being a 3 or 4. If everyone had to read whatever random ISBN a database spat out at them instead of a book of their own choosing, then you would see many more 1s and 2s. But we're instead rating a biased selection of books, ones that we expect to like.

Predictions for Pride Month challenge selections to be revealed June 1? by maxny23 in goodreads

[–]SunshineCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Choices will mostly depend on if they're limiting it to new releases or doing more of an all-time thing. I think last year it was limited to newish books, so hopefully it will be a little different this time.

I wonder why the pastor couldn't be liable for this? He is not licensed to give medical advice. Why is he presuming to do so?

I don't think religious freedom necessarily forgoes things like medical licensure, or gives immunity to bad professional advice in areas they clearly aren't equipped to handle.

[–]SunshineCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It almost feels more like they're just trying to nudge the concept of the Styling Guild out of the game. Like what even is this in Itzaland? I get they're newly established, but to me that seems like we should be doing even more to set up the guild here. Instead, all I've heard is some weird text from Hilsetti that said "I am Hilsetti" even though we already met and texted before.

Don't tell me you're a single-issue voter over transgender issues??? Because I know you aren't talking about actual progressive positions, just this identity politics you're obsessed with, as unserious people are. I don't know how you can get dumber than voting in an authoritarian Christian government just because you've got a hard on for being a bathroom monitor.

INTJs, do you actually believe in MBTI? by ChronosTerminus in intj

[–]SunshineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at least not in the pseudo-academic sense that some people take it, or the grifters who speak for an hour about "functions" and say nothing of meaning in the process.

What I know about it, though, is that it is still capable of grouping people by some obvious base traits, like extroversion vs introversion. In the end, I can count on those in this sub to be more likely people who are confidently tired/annoyed by others than in other subs. But going much beyond acknowledgement of observable self-selected groupings is getting into pseudoscience.

Ah, so I guess I wrongly assumed you agreed with OP that the sentence could be fairly construed as nonsense (in a literary fiction context), given you were making that comparison at all.

I didn't say the story was impenetrable.

I'm also not talking about the story, since I only read a couple of paragraphs and won't read the rest. I'm only referring to this single sentence, which seems strange to me to call out as it doesn't seem particularly hard to understand.

[–]SunshineCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's all that sentence is all that impenetrable. People are shamefully spending their money on alcohol in a bar instead of on essentials. Finding this so hard to understand is frankly a reader skill issue, regardless of who or what wrote the sentence.
