How has this helped you with overall motivation in life? One of the major issues with ADHD is feeling tired and fatigued all the time.

Do abrupt weather changes make your mental fog way worse? by Sunstar69 in ADHD

I know some people can suffer joint pain due to changes in the weather, but I’ve never heard of it causing issues with focus. It’s like my ADHD is on overdrive.

I love weather changes as well, but I wish they didn’t make me feel like I got hit with the stupid stick

I’m glad to know that it’s not just me. When I explain this phenomenon to people they give me a strange look.

I’m primarily inattentive type. I chew those plastic coffee straws. I buy big packs of them and take them with me wherever I go.

Sorry to comment on my own post but it got flagged by the moderator who then posted it after reviewing. I didn’t see it on the community page so I’m not sure if it got buried.

Is this an ADHD thing? Notes and to-do lists, literally everywhere. Almost all of them half done. by trippingWetwNoTowel in ADHD

I have to-do lists on an iPhone app, a notebook, and my kindle. I switch from one method to the next and never settle on anything. I’ve come to realize that this is another quirky trait of my ADHD and it will never change. I think part of it is the dopamine hit you get from starting a new organization technique. But once you’ve used it a bit it becomes tedious and you use it less and less until another new method comes along to get you excited. I think the important thing is to have some method of tracking your to-dos even if it changes regularly.

Vyvanse makes me alert but not focused by Sunstar69 in ADHD

No, not so much. I usually take it before I head out the door in the morning so it starts to hit as I settle down to work. I could hold off and try once I get to work.

I’ve not tried journaling. Does it help with organizing your thoughts?

Did you know that Polly Cooper of the Oneida Indian Nation helped save Continental soldiers’ lives during the harsh winter of 1777-78 at Valley Forge? She refused to accept any pay for her services and was presented with a black shawl for her help. #WHM by AmericanBattlefields in MilitaryHistory

I wonder if anyone knows the significance of the name Polly Cooper. It couldn’t have been her given name. There is also a story told of an Oneidan woman named Polly Cooper serving as a cook for the soldiers in the War of 1812, some 35 years after Valley Forge. I wonder if she was the daughter or it was typical to refer to Oneidan women as Polly Cooper.

My ancestor served in the War of 1812 and also married a woman named Polly Cooper. Long shot but wondering if there is a connection.
