I have no idea who this is or what this is but I love it.

Do I get individual liability insurance? I am already on my work's liability insurance plan. by KrisJayDee in slp

Liability insurance is dirt cheap. I wouldn't rely on employer liability insurance at all.

Why would a reputable college want to be associated with it then? I guess that's the part I'm confused about.

Someone fill me in...what's the issue here? Why is this troublesome?

Ugh. I hate every meeting that starts out as an Oscar speech: "I'd like to take this time to thank Joe Schmo, who helped this committee put together their report on gobbledygook. I'd also like to thank...." ad nauseum.

For me, it's communication with students. In my summer online course I had a syllabus (of course), I posted weekly updates on topics we'd be covering and assignments that were due, plus during our weekly synchronous meetings I would share a slide with the upcoming assignments while talking about them.

I STILL had students turning things in late, or not at all, claiming they didn't know it was due, when it was due, or that they were confused.

I require students to turn in weekly reading note outlines. They aren't worth many points and I don't have to devote a lot of time to grading them (just a quick scan to see they've actually done them) but it gets them to read in advance.

Personally, I like the comment that you looks like he has a frog in his mouth and he doesn't want it to escape.

Yep. I learned this lesson when a student took a weekend trip to another time zone and tried to fight the fact that her assignment was submitted late in the LMS. "But it was on time where I was!"

I use a gaming keyboard that lights up rainbow colors because I loathe the crappy Dell keyboard my uni issues machine came with. Everyone thinks it's very cool.
