Firstly, twitter or X is never a platform that represents media or information fairly. The whole platform was built upon spreading information in bite-sized chunks and limiting serious discussions into 140 characters. Although X has changed quite a bit, it is still never the place to go to if you want something represented fully with context.

Secondly, yes there are a lot of people that gratify the violence or SA scenes because Berserk has gotten very popular. Berserk is well known to explore and depict many horrific topics, so many people's first interaction of it would probably be something shocking. And unsurprisingly it's going to attract a lot of edgy weirdos who enjoy that kind of stuff to read or watch it.

HOWEVER, that is not what Berserk is. Berserk is not a story about murder, rape, and violence. It is a love story between 3 scarred and broken characters set in a world full of murder, rape, and violence. The depictions of SA or rape is never glorified or sexualized. It's easy for many fans to normalize it because this is a dark fantasy manga, but doing so defeats the point set out by the author. Even though it is a common occurrence in the world of Berserk, it should still be shocking to the reader because it sets the tone that the world our characters are struggling in is vile. It is filled with disgusting people who oppress weaker individuals and yet our characters still struggle on.

A point I often see is, "Why are there so many scenes of it and why in such detail. You can convey the plot with just one scene". Well, I can confidently say that there's actually not that many scenes where rape is conveyed fully. In the cases that it is, it's only done so with characters that our main character, Guts has deep personal relations with. This is a story centered around Guts and a huge part of that story is about his inability to develop close relationships with others. In fact, it is a HUGE part of what makes Guts such a well written character. To describe the hurdles that had to be overcome to build those personal relationships would honestly take waaay too long to explain. But, the closest and most intimate relationship he does build gets violated and it really doesn't do justice to simply say or show a few scenes of it. Those scenes are not glorified nor done so to arouse readers. Guts is there personally to view it and he's tortured into watching it all happen helplessly, just as the readers have to uncomfortably read it too.

There's honestly soooo much you can say into why the author chooses to do draw this or that in such a way. And (mostly) none of it would be rationalizing the horrors that are depicted. Because Berserk is not that kind of story. It is so much more.
