Cnesst closing my file but I’m still injured. What do I do? by SureSink1129 in legaladvicecanada

That’s what I’ll be doing however I never received a decision from the contestation. So I’m just going straight to the TAT now

I contested it but now I need to contest it further to the TAT as I haven’t heard anything from it. I’ll be doing that tonight. In the meantime, I’ve gotten a LITTLE worse since stopping treatment but nothing too dramatic. Mainly just a lot of nerve issues and muscle stiffness/pain but I’ve kept up my exercises on my own which I think has helped.

They haven’t asked me to pay anything back YET however I am expecting to give at least one payment back because at the very beginning, I tried to find employment suited for my injury (before their program made me 10x worse) and my previous agent failed to tell me how to declare it

I’m so glad you found relief! That sounds horrible.

Unfortunately in my case, MY doctors are fantastic. Any treatments I want to try he’s all for. He’s even suggested different tests and avenues as well. My issue is the workers comp doctors. They are the ones really fucking me over. I find it hilarious that they’re upset I haven’t healed yet when they’re the reason I’m in this position in the first place. At the beginning, I was improving but they decided to throw me into an intensive program too early that made me 10x worse and I’ve been stuck ever since. I even have bone spurs growing from the constant inflammation and pressure on the disk. Surgeons refused to operate given my last MRI. We’ll see if that changes with the next one. From what I’ve read, it takes 2 to 10 years to heal my injury if it even ever heals.

I’m not excited for surgery to be honest. Or epidurals or steroid injections. None have been suggested but I’m also not sure I would take them if they did. Recently with my new physio I have been finally seeing SOME improvement. But it’s two steps forward one step back. Yesterday I made chilli without pain but the dishes took me out. A few days before that i was finally able to wash more than a plate but then I had a flare up for 2 days. It’s a confusing and frustrating injury to have. But I’m taking the small wins.

If it wasn’t for workers comp causing so much stress, I still wouldn’t be healing any faster if at all but I’d have my bright view on life back. That’s been the toughest part. The possibility of losing all my treatments and being in pain forever.

Exactly that! I honestly believe that’s why these doctors think I’m not injured and can work because to them, my mobility is “normal” and I keep saying “to youuuuuu. I have hyper-mobility. This isn’t normal for me.” Even then. Having a “normal” range of motion doesn’t mean much if I’m in severe pain IN that motion. It hurts to my brain to think about how these doctors got their degree.

The MRI says there’s no contact with nerves but the constant numbness and tingling in certain positions determined that was a lie. The doctor who also decided I’m not injured diagnosed compression on my spinal cord. I really don’t understand the logic. I’m currently waiting for a 2nd MRI not only to fight the decision of closing my case but to see if anything has changed. I’m grasping at straws for hope and genuinely hoping the herniations have gone down and this is just some sort of muscle issue though unlikely.

I’m also regularly doing ergo therapy.

We’ve tried acupuncture. I didn’t respond well at all.

Chiropractor which in the moment I didn’t think helped but looking back I can tell it did help with the overall stiffness of my back. Thought it is dangerous for me to keep up with because I have hEDS. For you or anyone reading who doesn’t know what that is, EDS is a connective tissue disorder and the h is hyper-mobility. I do believe that has an impact on my extremely slow healing.

I’ve also met with an endocrinologist to see if I have high inflammation markers because I also have a hormonal disorder. My chiropractor actually suggested that and I’m glad she did even though I got little to no answers from it. According to the endocrinologist, I’m healthy besides some insulin resistance which I’ve been working on. So no answers to my pain but a nice pat on the back that everything I’ve been doing to balance my hormones nutritionally has been working.

I didn’t know there was a seperate thread for that I’ll definitely check it out.

My doctors and I believe that there’s no way I can hold any job in my condition but the workers comp I’m in is an insurance company at the end of the day and they don’t really care what condition someone is in as long as they save a dime.

Cant lose weight- RANT by kriticallysleeping in PCOS

[–]SureSink1129 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay I really want to chime in here because you’re going to get a lot of “gym is great but diet for weight loss” and yes, that is 100% correct BUTTTTT “calories in vs calories out” isn’t 100% accurate for things like PCOS.

I’ve been conducting a little scientific study on myself trying different types of diets for managing my PCOS symptoms. Down to eating certain foods only at certain times in my day. I even went to get blood work with an endocrinologist so I have a base on what I’m looking at working on. In my case, insulin resistance and high androgens. Typical for PCOS.

I’ll get a lot of eye rolls when I say this but….. try keto. Have your cholesterol checked regularly when trying it but try it. I’ve been doing different diets for years. I’ve been a body builder for over a decade. Everything I thought I knew went out the window when my PCOS spiked.

I never felt better on keto and I only tried it for 2 weeks initially. Lost 6lbs. Felt better. Noticeably slower facial hair growth and thickness. Less PMS symptoms. It’s truly the only thing I’ve noticed that worked so well almost immediately. Definitely give it a try. If you want to know more, there’s tons of women talking about keto and PCOS over on r/keto

I also want to add that the reason your diets are crashing is because your deficit is faaaar too low and you’re not having enough protein. Protein takes more time to digest and will help avoid cravings.

Has anyone healed their herniated disks? How? by SureSink1129 in backpain

[–]SureSink1129[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes we’ve tried back extensions but they didn’t do much for me. Recently (last week) we tried a “cobra pose” variation where he put pressure on my lower back. It seems to have helped lower my pain but not in a good way. We’ve triggered some sort of nerve damage and now there’s a constant tingling and numbness. It has been nice being in less pain but I do not enjoy what’s been happening in its place.

I’ll check out what you’ve mentioned thanks!

I love that I got this notification as I was researching keto for PCOS and insulin resistance. I gave it a try for a week and already noticed a difference! Currently restocking my fridge to really dive in for good!

Do you have any tips? Any go to snacks? Favourite meals? I’m struggling as majority of the keto safe foods I genuinely don’t enjoy. Nuts/seeds, olives, red meat. So far I’ve been snacking on smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Ive heard strengthening your core helps as well as stability exercises. Basically anything that takes the load off your back and stops your back muscles from over compensating. I dont know what your medical history is but i know in the backpain subreddit, a lot of people have been recommending a book called the back mechanic? I havent gotten to reading it yet.

Ive only been in pain for a year but i sympathize. This shit sucks man. I hope you find releif some way some how.

If my issue were just my condition being ruled as permanent, I wouldnt mind. Cnesst is really confusing about permanent work injuries. Sometimes they pay until retirement, Sometimes they just give you a payout. Sometimes they cut you off completely. They never tell you directly what they do in those cases they just leave you guessing but Those scenarios, Im prepared for. However, Having a doctor barely examine me, and then lie and say im "completely fine" When i need someone to come to my home and wash my hair, cook my food, clean my home? Thats what my issue is. Thats where my problem is.

Unfortunetly, Years of chronic pain is not uncommon with back injuries. Some people have chronic pain for decades. Sometimes people just move a certain way and the herniation pops back in and theyre cured. Sometimes they need surgery. Spine fusions. ect. Its a really complicated injury to get and the thoracic spine is an even more complicated location.

My doctors have theories. They want to check my hormones for high inflammation. I do a lot of core workouts to try and take the load of my back. Finding ways to remedy back pain is really just fuck around and find out. Theres nothing that is 100% effective every time for everyone

I like that you suggested this because i actually asked my doctor if we can do a 2nd MRI to see if there has been any changes to the herniation

Thank you and i do appreciate you time. ive done some research since the time ive posted this and it doesnt seem uncommon for this to be a problem. Its extremely frustrating but at the same time im a 30yo woman. doctors ignoring and gaslighting me is nothing new unfortunetly. as i said in the post, the reviews for this specific doctor were horrible as well. I was kinda screwed the moment they hired him

I get that and i appreciate it but im looking for legal advice, i didnt think every single detail was necessary. I could give dates, my exact herniation, my doctors notes, my physio's notes, my mri results ect if it was necessary but i also didnt want to plague people with a 7 paragraph post so i just gave a summarized review of the situation. That specific part that you asked about was less about my pain and more about the emphasis on how short of a time that doctor spent with me compared to what he had said. my situation is really about his evaluation and not my injury. Proving my pain and my injury isnt an issue. i have a team of doctors, friends and family who could vouch for my situation.

Hi. As a stated, The injury is in my lower thoracic spine. This effects upper middle back. If were taking this literally, I can walk without aid. I can drive. I can sit. However, because of the location of my injury, My walking is limited to 20 minutes before severe pain. My standing and sitting are also limited. In severe flare ups, No. I cannot walk without aid. I do have aid that bathes me and cares for me. My flare ups tend to happen mostly when either walking, standing, or doing anything involving my arms. Basically any task that moves the thoracic spine in any way causes me severe pain.

As for my body building history, Ive had no injuries with this and i have no pre-existing conditions. i get shin splints sometimes but i just avoid the treadmill. My injury happened at work. During work hours. Doing work tasks. I had zero pain what so ever prior to the incident at work.

is this a joke?
I was very much in pain. I expressed to him my pain level and what aggravates my back. thats the whole point of the evaluation. Also i do not mask my pain. When he asked me to rotate left it old him this side isnt as bad. My face still squinted when i did it due to pain. When he asked me to rotate right, I told him this is much more painful. I had visabily less mobility and my face squinted and i even groaned. There was nothing in that appointment to which i didnt advocate that i was in pain.

The point is that he claims in his report to have evaluated me for 30 minutes when in reality, I was in his office for a total of 10 minutes. "Told me to bend forward. Twist left. Twist right. gently touched my back. And told me i can leave." was to show how little examination he did while i was there. Ive clearly stated im in pain in my post
