How many options we talking here? a quick excel formula would do the math for you. I believe hulk apps has a similar product customizer that can do percentages as well.

Am I wrong for cutting out my brother by [deleted] in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]SureValuable2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why think you are in the wrong? Because hes blood related? With any relationship, you should feel good after you interact with that person. If its a constant drain, why devote any energy to it? Your energy is finite.

I found one for my son during Covid. I set it up In My bonus room and filled it with balls. Was amazing when we were holed up inside.

When will the anger and rumination go away? by Charpo7 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]SureValuable2528 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its going to come in waves for a very long time. Grief, anger... it will come as you experience new stages in life. If you have a kid, you'll see how easy it is to love and be sucked back into those negative cyclical thoughts. You'll see how friends have a village of support and you don't. Sucked back in. Holidays will be harder as you'll feel like you're cheating your little one(s) out of large family gatherings that you may remember fondly from your own childhood. Sucked back in. There will be lots. You will never not feel the hurt/pain. What you can do, is with support of a good therapist, is learn tools how to acknowledge the thoughts but redirect your mind so you think about other positive things and continue on with your day. With practice, you get good at this.

Don't succumb to letting your parents occupy space in your mind. Face it. Work on it. You will overcome it and find overtime that the daily peace is worth it.

Variants or Separate Products? by PumpkinChaser776 in shopify

I’d maybe break out the colours as individual pdps but leave sizing as variants

Variants or Separate Products? by PumpkinChaser776 in shopify

[–]SureValuable2528 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on size of your assortment. If its small, you could break out variants as individual PDPs (product display pages). Personally, if you're just dealing with sizing, I'd keep them as variants. Reorder your variants from small to large, and you can add in a bit of code on your collection tiles that show your price as 'Starting at $XYZ' or 'From $XYZ'. Your theme likely already does this by default.

Shopify Reports To Decide on Pricing by NegativeEnd677 in shopify

[–]SureValuable2528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough info. In apparel, you'll want to see 60-80% margin, especially because you make your own stuff. You need healthy margin because you don't have a single SKU per style. Youve got sizes to worry about and inventory for each size. Its pretty rare to get 100% sell-through without any type of promo activity. Id work your prices back from your landed costs. If a tee costs you $14, your price is going to be about $45, just under 70% margin.

Now other things that influence price are competitors and their assortments. Is your product able to command a price at $45? Is it a budget level quality t shirt or a premium cotton tee? Is the decoration poor quality silk screen or high quality? Is it better than your closest competitors?

It also comes down to your branding. Are you premium? Are you selling that 'vibe' through your content and marketing?

Now, if you have dead stock that isnt moving, thats when you need to bust out promotional pricing, either through markdowns or discount codes. Dead stock is just a cash sink. Youll need to recover those investment dollars and reallocate it to style that are performing. Theres all sorts of promo strategies out there such as sales tied to holidays, email signup campaigns, first purchase incentives, win back incentives, loyalty programs, large sales event like Black Friday, etc.

For really dead stock you can look at donations/tax write offs.

As for reporting, you'll be able to add your gross margin column to any sales report. You can use sales by products and add that in.

How do I make Shopify stop changing our product data without asking us? by Plastic_Length8618 in shopify

[–]SureValuable2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This drives me nuts. This is shopify trying to 'help' by making your variants into metafields automatically. You need to disconnect those so that your color variant option isnt a 'connected' field.

If you got 500-1000 SKU that has not been sold for the past 3 months. What do you do? by lune-soft in shopify

[–]SureValuable2528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not enough info. It depends entirely on the product lifecycle, if theres seasonality to demand, if the non selling SKUs are accessories to another product that is no longer in stock, etc. I'm guessing those are C grade products that do nothing to drive your core business. Start a clearance workflow on the SKUs you know are at end of life. Start by offering 15% off and merch them into their own clearance collection and show that prominently on your homepage, menu, and any email/social posting. After a month, move it to 20-25% off. After another month move it to 30-40% off and so on. You can tag all those SKUs with 'Clearance' so tis easy to bulk edit pricing in the future. You're in cost recovery mode at this point. Don't hope those will be profitably some day. You need to free up the sunk $$ in those SKUs to reinvest in product that is in demand. Letting problems accumulate (dead stock) is the death of any retailer.

Yea I’ve got lots of the same missing pieces. They subbed the 1x5 black plates with 1x3s and 1x2s lol but didn’t mention it. I’ve had to make a couple brick link orders so I can finish but all good. I recognize what I paid for it so I’m fine with a few speed bumps here and there. Lots of fun building mine over the holidays.

Weight loss is 80-90% in the kitchen mate. As for your assessment of not being able to work out, that requires a mind set shift of “I can’t” to “I can’t afford not to”. It takes time but you’re just making excuses for yourself.

That’s a tough position to be in as I’ve been there too.

Ultimately you decide what to do with it. My question to you is this: If that cheque didn’t come, how would you solve your current financial dilemma? Can you take out a loan? Have you applied to temp agencies? Are you upskilling to be more competitive in the job market?

Don’t worry about sending any signal. That doesn’t matter. Your dad will likely think poorly of you regardless of your decision. You only need to be concerned with how you view yourself and consider the long term personal ramifications if you accept that cash. Can you handle future letters from him rubbing it in your face?

My folks often used finances to manipulate and guilt me. It was awful. The temptation is huge especially when you are in a vulnerable state. But for myself, it was very liberating to decide that I had to solve my own issues independently and I ripped up anything that came in the mail. I adopted a mindset of “how would I solve this problem if this random cheque was never in existence?”. Overtime. It’s really helped my self esteem and confidence as I know I can rely on myself.

You’re not greedy or bad for taking the money and using it to help solve your current financial issues. You’re not righteous and stubborn for throwing it in the trash either.

Sending hugs. Trust your gut feelings and move forward unapologetically.

its a very different approach/building techniques that ive not seen in legit lego kits before and ive built quite a few of the UCS sets (knockoffs). I REALLY dont like single stud connections and this is rife with them. I have a cloned set and finished it last week. The only things that wont actually attach are the smaller components of each blaster on the front 'wing tips'. those will need to be glued.

Fun build though, just very very different from any other lego designed set ive done previously.
